Just found the last datacube thanks to this video! As soon as I saw that timed event room on my map in the Citadel I knew what it was. Took about 5 or 6 runs for it to spawn. Appreciate your work, thank you!
ive done the Citadel a number of times and have never seen that timed room pop up... i hate the Citadel... worst biome ... mainly cause of those bloody drones
I haven't even watched your video yet but was intrigued when I saw a guide to items in a roguelite game and after reading the description and seeing how detailed it is and obviously how much time and effort this must of taken I subscribed, the level of dedication and commitment to make video guides for a game as random as this is just nuts (in a good way) 👍 I'm in the middle of a run so I will watch this video and the other you must have on returnal after I die. Yeah, at one point i was sure I will never get these done. It took 2 platinum runs and then a third playthrough to actually get all the stuff recorded. Never again like this. It was too much.

Can't tell you the hours and hours and hours if not days of running the second three of the game thinking it must be on the final one cause I'd have seen the data cube 9 before hand. Months ago infact but I didn't. Only flaw in Returnal that you can Platinum but still have stuff to do. With out this video I can only imagine how many more runs if have done in the wrong zones. I got it! I ran into this room but it had a regular consumable instead of the data cube, same with the second hidden wall I got in a different room. The third I found finally had the data cube, but it wasn't this room. I've also seen another video on RUclips where the damage siphon was in a different room than here. So there's either rng for these, they patched something, OR it could have been because my game wasn't fully downloaded when I was trying for this. Just wanted to add this for anyone trying to find it still Also, I just wanted to say the weapons and items I got for that run were useless. It's like the game knew I had a data cube and didn't want me to beat phrike 🤨
I don’t know what all are in databank as some have different names. Which is also confusing I think I have all of them but I’m not sure how to tell because of this.
The video mentions that the Alt-Fire Stimulator (#17) can only be found in the first part of Biome 3 before the drop, but I got it in the room just before the access to the final boss. So keep going if you don't find it at first. You just might get lucky.
Does anyone know whether or not you have to keep picking up datacubes every run? Or once you pick them up you have them? Is there somewhere in the menu that I can see which ones I've picked up in the past because datacube #1 broken wall isnt spawning even tho the room did. I think Because I've already picked the first one up. Any help would be awesome
Oh boy those rare rooms are really hard to find I’m looking for the dismantler Data Cube in Biome 3 and that room just won’t show up what makes it worse is yesterday before I saw your video I was in that room but didn’t know about the cube.
The moment you step into Level 2, scan and you see the whole level. 1st - the track need to turn right first, not left. Then check to see if you see the room you see on the map in the video. If not, save your time and just restart. The most rare room in the game has a similar shape, so you either find the Datacube or the most rare room ever, that most people have not ever seen. Big pool and stuff inside that.
So for datacube 12, ability circuit, I definitely don’t have it as I’ve referenced my databank for consumables/artifacts and it isn’t there, but when I go to the pedestal at the top of that room, a consumable is there instead. Is there a chance you can roll the right room but the wrong cube spawn somehow? I figured if you get the right room gen the cube will be there, but it seems that isn’t necessarily the case? I also have been through that times room with leeching nanoswarm something like 100+ times. There has never been a datacube there, and I don’t have that artifact/consumable in my databank either. Hoping this isn’t a bug so I’m just fucked lol
I can't seem to find datacube 12, this is a great guide, but I wish you had shown the previous area before the leap tot he datacube a little more at 11:21 because the clip starts off with you basically already at the datacube.

Something is wrong with getting the Damage Siphon data cube for me. I go to the location you have, but it gives me the path to get to Shield Disruptor instead which I already have and just gives me a parasite instead so I can’t collect the data cube. Shouldn’t the data cubes be in fixed secret areas?
Thanks a lot, man! You're godsend =D I'm missing 3 of these and after watching I can clearly tell the 3 places which I never got them from (though 2 of those I've seen). It's curious how these things spawn. I had several cubes spawn in a single run and sometimes I opened only one of them (didn't think to backtrack for the other one at the time). And then I had different cubes spawn in the same spot. But I guess in the end, it's made in a way where if you didn't pick it up in one of these spots - that's where the last cube will be.
Same cubes are always at these places. Did 2 Platinums and 200 plus hours. Always the same. Scout logs and ciphers also remain in same places, just rooms move around.
@@videogamersEU Well I'm certainly missing 2 consumables - Leeching Nanoswarm and Dismantler. And I 100% didn't pick them up in those places (due to events being timed). However, I'm also missing one artefact and I don't know which one it is. Your list doesn't mention which ones are artifacts or consumables, and which artifacts are suit, xeno-tech, unknown or personal item. Can you please check the the name of the artifact number 13 in the databank? I would be forever grateful.

I'm having trouble getting adrenaline fury datacube. I've been to the spot multiple times and it doesn't spawn. Also I've checked the databank to see if I've picked it up and it's not there either. Anyone else have this problem?
Heya, I think I have picked up the leeching nanoswarm before but probably died. The room spawned again on another playthrough but the datacube was missing, just an empty shelf. Is there a chance that it does not spawn in that room? I am unsure if its a bug.

This was and is a great guide and all for the data cubes, but where are the data bank locations to deposit them? I'm after the point of doing echoing ruins and only can get to the one drop off on that stage. Where are the rest after since I haven't unlocked the warp anywhere option?
If you play the game you see each and every one. They cannot be missed. Well, the last one can, if you don't look behind the place where the last boss is.
@@videogamersEU that's why I'm looking for videos or pics detailing where these spots are. I made it through the ice place once so I don't remember where it is. Half the time I don't even make it out of the ruins, or even to the boss room for the skip to the ice or depths stages.

I tried to find the item that datacube could give me with your videos but it seems i have them all (maybe i make a mistake because i don't play the game in English and don't understand everything in your videos as well) So is there something the datacube gives us who's not an artifact or equipment?
There is a datacube clitch, that can either give you the item and not show the datacube or vice versa. It happened to me on the first run. I did the datacube, but the artifact never unlocked.

I’m missing 3 cubes and I believe 2 of them are from breakable walls in biome 1. I’ve found the walls a couple times but they are always covered by branches or something and I can’t break the wall
Is datacube 9 before or after the player crosses the bridge? Is datacube 16 on the path with a big arena fight in lockdown as the first room? (The player always has to jump down and the fight starts) Is datacube 18 on the path to the left of the boss path where the player receives the blue orb ability and the grenade launcher?
Datacube 9 is at Level 2, a little over mid way. Datacube 16 is usually the first room in Level 2, so way before the miniboss. Datacube 18 is before the end of Level 1 with orb
Datacube 9 - finally found this one. (Before the bridge, same building as the other two) when the big fight music kicks in and the Tyrant is trying to machine gun you down.) Hope that helps anyone else hunting these.
First day playing and I have 2 datacubes in the same run, my question is where do I deposit them and do I have to beat the first boss before I can offload them?
a question about the damage shyphon datacube: the room which it spawn appear only in main course rooms or also in secondary ones (the blue triangle rooms)? nevermind that, i have another more important question: now everytime i reach the area where the data cube should be spawning, it is replaced by another item even if i failed to return it to the cube analyzer thing... why?

2:25 The first time I saw this room was on my first full run. I have NEVER seen it again since. Someone tell me I'm just unlucky and that it's still possible to find.
no you're not unlucky. this is a rare room indeed. as well as the shrine room in this biome where you can get scout log 14 and the rotgland lobber. ultra rare room.
I knew the map by heart in like day 2 of playing this, since there are not that many different rooms per biome. Feel free to check out other guides on this. Hope you find the datacubes you are looking for.
I thought at least the cubes spawn every run. But timed event rooms AND they the fcking citadel room is even rare to spawn. That is just shitty game design. Requiring late game upgrades and going back into areas you already finished is somewhat OK I guess but this is just BS.

If you dont deposit the cube before you die you have to get it again. Once it has been deposited it is unlocked forever.

@@MegaCityGhost Sealed Skull is an artefact, gives 30% of chance for a consumable to be reused

Just keep trying. The RNG is stupid and there is no other way to just keep trying. There are 2 hidden walls, so it makes it hard as well.

The first biome doesn’t really have “halves”, any room can appear in almost any order. It might be the second room you find, or it could be the last.
Ive done so many runs and cant find that last data cube in echoing ruins that room just doesn't spawn 😭😭

If branches are there, then at that certain spawn, there is no room behind there. There there are other secret areas at that certain spawn.

What do you do with the datacube once you have it? I can only carry one at a time. What do I do with it?
You take it to the datacube collector to get a permanent new item for random rotation.

Yes. And you can only hold 1 at a time until you deposit it. Beat the boss and take it there.

Then you have done it. Otherwise it will always be there. Some of these look very similar, especially the ones behind the breakable walls.

Bro. for the love of all that is saint. Use the fucking zoom feature. It is extremely hard to know where you are with this map
I knew the map by heart in like day 2 of playing this, since there are not that many different rooms per biome. Feel free to check out other guides on this. Hope you find the datacubes you are looking for.

I thought at least the cubes spawn every run. But timed event rooms AND they the fcking citadel room is even rare to spawn. That is just shitty game design. Requiring late game upgrades and going back into areas you already finished is somewhat OK I guess but this is just BS.
U need to do a better job of showing the complete map. That’s way more helpful
