I love the adventures of Nick and Simon !!
I remember following that sequence. It was fun, surprising, touching, lighthearted and sometimes very serious. Impressive and a really dutch way of doing things. I admire the way they accepted a number of challenges in the US.
Subtitles are in Dutch also when they speak to eachother haha, because the guys are from Volendam and speak to eachother in dialect..Not too bad, but I guess they thought we wouldn't be able to understand.
This is beautiful. See what music can do to people: it brings back memories or sets us on a journey…
that is why I am so happy that concerts are aloud again in the Netherlands.

Nick & simon are very special musicians how he just grabs the guitar tunes it and sings this song on TV without practice. That is A real gift to be able to do that.

Fun fact: I don't need the subtitles for the Southern accent but I need it when Nick and the rest speak in there own dialect, for me it's really unintelligible 🤣.
I have a friend who's from Russia and she finds it incredible that we have so much accents and dialects in such a small country.

Just in case you are wondering as to why they give Dutch subtitles when they are clearly speaking Dutch: these guys have a very strong accent when they talk to each other. They are from Volendam.They have a Volendam accent and they speak Dutch combined with typical Volendam words. Compare it to a man from South Carolina versus a guy from New York. The words are the same but it sounds different.
Broadcast companys always like to use subtitles whenever Dutch people speak dialect ( 'cos these companys are from the 2 Holland provinces and they themselves don't seem to understand other dialects🙄)but most Dutch will understand just fine...
True, the dialects from those areas are understandable.. If someone from Frisia, Groningen or Limburg was in this show the subtitles would make some sense :)

I don't think that many Dutch people would have problems understanding English spoken with a southern accent or any American accent for that matter. When it comes to the English language for me only some UK accents are hard to understand, Scottish for example, I definitely use subtitles for that ;)

Fun fact, the Dutch translation is because these guys come from Volendam. An old town where they have their own dialect (if not language)

I hope Tros/Avro at some point understands some of these shows prob mainly. Beste Zangers/ The American Dream and a few more have global outreach trough internet instead of linear television alone. The amount of response by reactors and their following would definately suggest there are more people around the world that like to see those feel good no winners shows.
