This is my impression of Snoke and Kylo Ren, from the throne room scene early on in The Last Jedi. For this, I remove all original audio, and perform the voices live, while matching the timing of the original movie. I record HQ audio into Garage Band while recording the video performance on my iPhone. I then edit everything together, and viola! You have the original film with my voice edited seamlessly in! How do you do this?

Learn the voice. Watch the clip about a million times to memorize the timing in chunks. Then play it (the scene) on mute while I record into garage band, the impression, while simultaneously recording myself on an iPhone. Then, put everything into iMovie, and mute all original audio from the actual film, line up my audio and video performance with the original for timing, and replace whatever music or sound FX that are missing since all of the original clip's audio is now muted. It's a pretty major undertaking.
