you should try to get the purple medal for each one without using the breakdance, it's completely possible but needs a bit more effort to do (and is SO much more rewarding). I recommend using the pink puppet so that you can get 2k score racked up from enemies instead of having to kill 50 to upgrade the shoulder bash and give it extremely high starting speed (which outmatches the belly slide at the cost at having to carefully position yourself to finally enter mach run state) and the ability to float in the air when the move is active (it can only be done once per jump though)
I do NOT recommend it. I was unaware that any of the badges could help with Time Trial, and so did it on the first level... I had to play absolutely _perfectly_ (including not killing enemies if possible, as that costs about .10 seconds) just to _barely_ manage the medal, after who knows how many restarts. Made me swear off the mode entirely, especially when I considered Bloodsauce (that was my toughest Noise P Rank by a good margin in the real game).
@@ShadwSonic while john gutter definitely has a focus on avoiding enemies to save time, ancient cheese (especially if you don't take the shortcut where you just do a single superjump into the key room) will shove a bunch of enemies in front of you that are virtually unavoidable or in the way; figuring out a route for getting the 2k score with the pink puppet is key as the shoulder bash is extremely helpful during certain parts including the escape, saving well over 2 seconds overall and making up for the enemies killed there's even a neat little trick in the 1st room of the 2nd section of ancient cheese where you can chain a hold-jump (holding the jump button while killing an enemy midair to jump) into 2 pepperoni goblins and gain some serious height meaning that you'll always get 200 at the very least, and in the same room there's many more enemies to get even more score on, filling your combo by 500 points. the shoulder bash is simple to incorporate in ancient cheese but shouldn't even be thought about in john gutter or pizzascape
While this is a good idea in practice, I still think the breakdance move is strictly better. Sure, the shoulder bash can be useful, but the breakdance easily makes it so you can enter mach 4 extremely easily without needing the taunt, while for the puppet, you need the combo to get that speed, but the problem is that killing enemies wastes time, and on top of that, when the combo does get to 2k, the enemies become harder to deal with because they incorporate new harder attacks, and if you get hit even once, you lose that combo, so killing all of those enemies effectively goes to waste. The breakdance is just simpler and much more reliable in these scenarios.
@@goldencyanrod64 the breakdance move is strictly better. that's the point of using the shoulder bash w/ combo gal instead because it challenges you further to not get hit while not being able to exactly hit mach 4 instantaneously which can feel a ton more rewarding once yoy get that purple medal. I just personally find it more enjoyable

you gotta beat it in 20 seconds or something to get p rank
all of these are completely possible without using the breakdance so just take your time and learn strats to reduce time
