      Of course (-;. I have implemented an Node-Red flow (raspberry pi) with connection to an ESP8266 over ESPEasy / MQTT. In the flow I see that ESP8266 is sometime status switch from MQTT connected (green dot) too MQTT disconnected (red dot). I do not understand how these works in detail. Would be great to get more information about these connect/disconnect status.

    Excellent video as always. You have a knack of explaining things very well.
    Would love to see a video of you using NR to drive some modbus TCP outputs, read inputs and create some data sources driving the outputs.... If that makes sense lol

    • @Opto22
      @Opto22  5 лет назад +1

      Thankyou for the feedback, we'll see what we can do! For modbus devices I've been using the `node-red-contrib-modbus` package, if you're looking into modbus communication using NR that's a great place to start.

      Opto Video is modbus to point Mqtt messages to Nodemcu for example

  • @mandeepmails

    I’m grateful to see such an elaboration. Hats off to your knowledge and presentation skill. Undoubtedly I’m newbie into this, and exploring all I can, may be you could point me to the right place, if there’s a guide to get expertise over nodered. I’m still unable to correlate some basic stuff sometimes...my first project I’ve decided is to have complete dashboard for my room lighting controls. I’ve already bought one Nodemcu.v9 and got raspberry pi able to use gpio pins. But not over wireless MQTT.....please advise me. Thanks in advance.

    Hi, I have a question for you:
    Can I edit node’s properties from functions? If is this possible, how can I do it?

    Hi
    I would like to copy modbus read value and add or subtract one delta value and keep this result value till bolean input goes false, whe it goes false it return back to the previous value readed before bolean true. Is it possible to do with RBE node?
    Thankyou!

    I see that the email node is not in my palette. Odd, I thought, for a video on "core nodes". It seems that Node Red removed the email and "Social" from core functionality. Searching, I see that I can manually add email to my palette.
    Is there maybe a good reason this node was removed from core install? Is there some better equivalent, now that ~5 years has passed?

    8:49 Sorry, i don't quite understand this part.
    He used the switch nodes as if else statements, but after he deploys it doesn't show in any way that it's weekday or weekend.
    How would i find out if it works?

      Change the Name property on the debug nodes and he name will be displayed in the debug messages instead of the long hex id number.

    Just use the BigTimer node

    • @Opto22
      @Opto22  4 года назад

      The BigTimer node is a great option, but that does require an internet connection to download and install first. A lot of Node-RED applications can be in limited-access or entirely closed networks, where the preinstalled nodes are essential.

      a thing i noticed is that, as you did, i put my userid and password in email node and click done, but when i reopen it there are less characters than before in the password field. I don't know if is this the problem or maybe my password is too long and few black dots are showed

    `d = new Date()`, seriously?
    What language is that, javascript from Netscape Navigator?
    Man, if you say in one video that node-red speaks JS, it's assumed that it speaks it well. Does it?
