    Thanks for the review. It's nice to see a side-by-side comparison and the fact that they are both the same price leaves no room for doubt. Would you also be able to give a long-term review of the performance...say about 6 months?
    P.S. The discus are beautiful.

    FX6 has less bio media tray to compensate the outer bio foam. In the other hand, whiteout outer circle foam, HW5000 can accommodate more bio media. So depend what you prefer...

    • @johnfadds6089
      @johnfadds6089 2 года назад

      The FX6 sponges ARE biomedia! Of course if you wash them every 2 weeks they will act just as mechanical media.
      In ammonia oxidation comparison tests, 30 ppi foam outperforms any other static media including ceramic/lava rock media.

      I think you are mistaken the hw5000 is 1/3rd smaller than a fx6 if not more

    mate you need to do some research on what your talking about before you give any advice on products, and totally confuse everybody, and is no way the sunsun and the nautilus are the same price, the sunsun hw5000 is a much better filter

      If your patient every year fx6 is on sale for around $120-180 and its a better quality build then this one. Most people go with sun sun cause its decent and cheaper than eheim / fluval but be patient and get the fx6 when its on sale

    Not surprised its under performing with all that media overload as for sponges you'd be better using corrigated foams, course, medium and fine they would fit in one of those trays easily and seriously loose coral and crap floating around freely like that is a disaster waiting to happen. You need to seriously rethink your set up

    Very good review. Here in Australia we pay top dollar for aquaone which is a terrible filter. I will never get one again EVER. In China aqua one, Jebo, jebao sunsun, hailea etc are all made in one place by one manufacturer. Aqua one is the lowest of quality on the food chain. Sunsun are great cannisters. I’ve been using them for a couple of years no dramas. I can’t comment on the hw5000 but I have a few hb704’ and the hw3000 which is an awesome filter. The flow rate can be changed from 1200 litre’ to 3000 litre an hour.

      @obsessivecichliddisorder7258 3 года назад +2

      I’ve got a Aqua One Nautilus 2700 and a FX6. The FX6 has a bit better flow rate and is better quality but the Aqua One is really not that far behind and it’s a third of the price, also the Aqua One can hold a heap load more media and cheap on spare parts.

  • @chriskayler5849
    @chriskayler5849 4 года назад

    The problem is your wrong! It ALL depends on what your keeping. First off the bio media your using too much of its just for tropical you don’t need 50-80 liters of media. Second off you got ripped on price as here it’s only $179. Do I like it no I’m a fx6 guy but the fact you bash it because of you fuck up on how much you paid and for whatever reason you need 50-80 liters or media is your problem and not the filters.

    • @RumballsFishroom
      @RumballsFishroom  4 года назад

      It's definitely junk it's actually broken since I made this video

    • @graeme1491
      @graeme1491 4 года назад

      You have set up incorrectly, water flows up from the bottom of the filter, mechanical, biological and the chemical in that order. So foams go in the bottom tray first. Tegards

    • @RumballsFishroom
      @RumballsFishroom  4 года назад +1

      No the water flows top to bottom

    • @chriskayler5849
      @chriskayler5849 4 года назад

      Rumball's Fishroom not saying it isn’t junk as I said I’m an fx4-6 guy who has 10 and has had one problem with them in 3 yrs. my spares are still brand new. The issue is I didn’t watch any other videos to see what you are holding in your tank. But to need that much bio is for planted tanks etc. which the sun sun is not good for. If you need that much bio a homemade sump would be perfect for you. Now what I’m saying your wrong is the price here they were never over $175. I know friends in the hobby who swear by sun sun the UV is absolutely unnecessary all together is caused more problems then it helps. Again what your wrong about is the price and the use of bio.
