soo will we ever see Adam Ragusa Gaming?
I will say the amount of sponsored content versus cooking content was a bit high on this video, but I think the amount of relevant info was still good. The yeast demo was neat too! As a one-off video format, I'm cool with it.
Hey Adam, Did ASUS require you to say their name like x number of time??😂

You can also reduce splatter by putting your Asus Visiomatic2000 Laptop on your pan. It’s bio resistant and probably food safe.
Best comment
Does that reduce the effective TDP?
The Ryzen 6000 series processor was also proven to assist with the cooking process while rendering the footage for this video!
Adam is a scary good salesman sometimes. The yeast laptop experiment low key blew my mind
That is tradeshow level of salesmanship.

Now I want yeast laptop
It does work. The problem with silver coatings is that they wear off in time. That's doubly problematic because silver is not safe to ingest and consequently is not safe to let loose into the environment. This is especially a big deal for clothes that are treated with silver, because it doesn't take many washings to get the silver all off and into the sewer or, even worse, your septic system where it can wreak havoc.
I appreciate that it's a sponsored ad, but IMO, the whole silver coating thing is a downside. You're better off wiping the surface with 60%+ isopropyl alcohol.
Splatter actually played a role in me meeting my first love. She got a burn from fry oil at work, I got mine from being an inexperienced home cook, but it turned out we both worked for the same fast food place (I lived one town over; we met at a bus station after I'd been stood up for a date!)
The talk about hot oil burns broke the ice. If I'd known how to avoid burning myself, I'd never have gotten her number!
Very inspirational! I will no proceed to burn myself woth hot oil every day until i find the love of my life.

Ah yes keeping the meme alive.
Love videos like this where Adam reviews common, but never commented on kitchen problems faced by the newbie chef
You mean videos where he comes up with basic content to push an ad?
Yet he didn't mention how those micro water and oil explotions cake my glasses and probably his as well
I’ve NEVER clicked an Adam Ragusea video faster than this. I love cooking, I love clothes, and I absolutely HATE getting oil on my favorite clothes!!
Ever since I started watching your videos I have been splattering everywhere all over the kitchen my wife hates me because I splatter all over on the ceiling and the floor and the kids. Thanks Adam for showing me how to end this current family emergency I have been dealing with.
Since I lost my apron I've been making my kids cover me as well. They're so thankful for this upload
My wife loves it when my splatter makes it all the way to the ceiling
If you had to provide a definition for “shitpost”, how would you put it into words?
@@jon_flop_boat Not this. This is a splatterpost.
It's not okay to be splattering on your kids. On your wife is okay if she asks for it but never on kids.
Adam’s one of the few people who can actually make me listen intently to a spiel about how great the antimicrobial coating on a sponsored laptop is 😅 great example!
That yeast test was cool
yeah this video is a good benchmark for the right balance of not being too pushy with the ads and still having entertaining and enjoyable content. hope he keeps this balance though

Wow your demonstration of the bacterial guard with yeast is one of the most amazing things I have seen done by anyone doing an ad on their channel. Most people would have said it and walked away. This is why I love this channel.
Adam, can you make a video about catalysts of the Maillard reaction (I’m mostly thinking of baking soda) and how they can be used in the kitchen?
Check out his video about baking powder vs baking soda, might interest you.
Did you see his pretzel video? Might be useful
I wonder why pans aren't usually sold with splatter guards. They seem so useful.
A lot of people own several pans, but most people don't need more than one splatter guard.
It's the soap manufacturers. They pay off the pan companies...
Because they're kinda useless. Sure, they reduce splatter somewhat, but a lot of it gets through the mesh. That's why I used a lid that has automatic venting to the let steam and water vapour out.
@@altersami9660 I use a splatter guard all the time and it stops almost all of everything in my experience. Could yours have holes that are too big or something?
@@sfurules I used the same one he showed in the video. You are probably not noticing how much splatter it lets through. Start with a spotless kitchen stove (best if you have a glass-top one), try pan frying something or searing a steak, and see how much oil is splattered everywhere.
But that's my experience. Maybe the one you have has very fine mesh and works better. I haven't tested every single one to make sweeping judgement.
he's starting the gamer tech arc, and he will eventually hit the peak of the keyboard arc
The lid will also condense the steam and droplets of water may fall back into the hot oil when you remove it.
This video is 75% ad and 25% cooking lol
This is honestly one of the funniest sponsored videos I've seen, no one in their mind would've ever thought about such a sponsor on your channel.
And remember, no water in oil.
I legit can't wait to see Adam make a gaming PC build video in the same style as his cooking videos with the usual soft voice followed by the "No!". All on carpet no less
"so we're going to install the motherboard without installing the io shield or any of the standoff screws and... NO!"
"And here we're going to carefully measure out thermal paste with a gram scale and... NO! JUST DUMP A PEA SIZED BLOB ON IT, IT DOESN'T MATTER!"

Four minutes of actual non-sponsored content in a seven-minute video. It's like I'm really watching TV on my computer!
I'm glad I'm not the only one noticing this. I'm currently in minute 4 of 7, and I feel like I've watched more ad than content.
I think the ratio is probably off from his usual videos as a result of him typically having several minutes of sponsorship script (either self made or required by the sponsor) and the fact that this topic is relatively simple so he didn't have a bunch of on topic content.
But it is weird to have a video be 50% advertisement.
He was pretty clear about making an extra video each week that would be mostly sponsored. Its in addition to the standard videos so dont want the ad based vid if you dont want to. Thats what the fast foward is for tho...
that's what Sponsorblock is for!
He said right at the start that it was an ad. You were lucky to get 4 minutes of actual content in your 7 minute infomercial.
Protip regarding lid on your frying pan: place it slightly off center so that the steam can escape and you won't have to bother with a mesh lid.
Wouldn't there still be considerable steam build up?
great idea!
@@cgoldbac Significantly less, what you're really wanting to do is let enough steam escape so that the water doesn't condense back into the food so that browning isn't hindered much
This is exactly what I do! Works great!
@@cgoldbac most of the steam will escape even if the gap is quite small.
It's not 100% effective, but it's convenient if you already have a a lid that's somewhat fits your frying pan
Careful using a lid when frying in oil! The steam condensers on the lid and when you go to remove the lid the water often falls into the pan causing a big explosion of spatter.
Adam, this ad is definitely a masterclass in Late Night As Seen On TV advertising with that actual demonstration of the antimicrobial coating in action in a way that is absolutely relevant to your channel. And also a masterclass in splatter reduction, as well! ;D
Yeah, I would love it, if he made more videos like this: advertise said product, add honest disclaimer at the beginning, and add interesting content.
Excuse me, "AZUES" I've been saying "Ace-us" my entire life.
Quick tip: If you use a foaming dispenser for your dish soap you can wash a great many things a lot easier, ESPECIALLY sieves and grated things of all sorts. Taking a sponge to it might not work crazy well but a bunch of foam will sit and penetrate and cover a larger surface area. Pretty great for cleaning windows, surfaces and mirrors too. Gives you a very visual idea of how much area you've covered without using too much detergent/soap.
this one felt like more like an ad than your usual sponsored content.
Well, he did say that this is an AD at the start
almost half the video was just advertisement... I bet they paid well but damn.
That yeast demo was neat Adam!
You did a good job on this ad Adam. Them making you list all the specs is a terrible idea, but you did your best. Hoped you made a pretty penny on this one.
He is just prostituting himself... And we have to witness this.
@@benenivel1478 Is it bad?
I just hope people don't believe the advertising blurb that because it can handle video editing it can handle hardcore gaming. It's going to very anemic at gaming.
I would hope that the fact that there’s no gameplay footage of any kind in the video is a clue to folks that this is really a laptop which /can also play games/ rather than a /gaming laptop/
@@Thermalions Anemic is a bit strong. It'll basically crush any esports game. Modern games will be somewhere between 30-60 fps depending on settings.
Brilliant of ASUS and AMD to sponsor a video on a cooking channel for this, especially Adam since he actually showed that the antibacterial worked instead of just taking their word for it.
I got my pans and pots in bulk from the same supplier, and I've found manufacturers often make the pot lids fit their pans as well. Very convenient, if you're cooking multiple things at once or have your pots close at hand anyway.
Wow! What a cool freaking way to show off the coating while being 100% relevant to the channel. That was really well done.
ASUS AMD is actually an acronym, it stands for "Amongus SUSpicious AMongus viDeogame" very cool Adam
I appreciate that you flat out called the video an advertisement instead of pretending it's a review.
I am literally phobic of frying oil popping and burning me, but trying to work on it. I *knew* this about hot oil + water, but didn't occur to me that even that slightly damp would make such a difference when frying it, thanks so much for the extra help 👍
Great video! I love when you do these practical home cook problem solving videos. Though I must say it was painful as a tech guy to watch you put the yeast and water on the laptop 😂 great demonstration though
This has to be the most Adam ad demonstration ever XD Trust bread, not scientists.
If anyone else wrote and presented this it would seem contrived but as the other comments demonstrate, Adam somehow manages to sell a laptop using yeast. Bravo.
Hey Adam,
Just want to say as a big fan, we will not stop watching your videos even as you ramp down production for a better work/life balance. I have the same splatter guard and I've found that the edges burn/melt if I use it at high heat on my gas stove. My workaround is partially covering the pan with a pot lid. I'm right handed so while I'm moving stuff around with my right hand, I use my left arm to shield myself with the lid and direct any splatter into a smaller area.
In addition to the splatter guard I also place a paper towel on it. I've noticed that some fat particles get through the guard and just a simple sheet of paper prevents that and is easy to throw away after you're done.
Ok I gotta say that an actual demo of the anti-bacterial properties of the system is above and beyond. Nice.
4:50 This is why i love the cast iron pan i use and why i almost always use it over other pans when cookin at home; even for eggs unless i want like properly creamy scrambled eggs.
My cast iron pan has two little slots that dont get covered when a lid is placed on and theyre rly quick at ventin the steam. Its still steamin stuff for a bit, but not nearly as long and it lets me know when the water lvl has decreased to manageable amounts based on the amount of steam escaping
I use a cast iron dutch oven lid for it, tho any lid wud work, i just much prefer it as i can more easily move everythin into the oven if desired
3:14 Thank you for saying how many years the effect can be expected to last, Adam! I was seriously wondering about that.

years of kitchen experience learning how to reduce splatter by trial and error summarized in 7 minutes! Wish I'd had this video when I started cooking earlier, great video!
Using yeast to prove that the protective coating on the laptop works is the most adam thing ive seen today
Thanks Adam. A real game changer for me is dry aging meat. Just leave it uncovered in the fridge for a few days, preferably on a wire grid of some kind. Flip after a day or two if you want. I salt and pepper most things first which also helps the drying process. At first I did it for just roasts, leg of lamb etc. but then I started doing it with sliced pork bellies, sausages, burger patties etc. No water in your meat means zero splatter and a crispier, drier crust or browning.
Do you find it dries out the meat? My only worry for doing that
@@jayj4705 It dries out the crust of the meat, yes but inside it's the same. Now the thinner your meat like sliced pork belly for eg. the more likely it is to dry right through but it's the water that's leaving not the fat. All I can say is try it a couple of times and you might like it or you might not. In my experience getting your larger cuts of meat to remain juicy is mostly based on cooking temp, method and letting the meat rest before cutting.
@@jayj4705 need longer than a few days to have a tiny effect on the inside of most meats and by then it'd be more a good thing cause it won't be that much drier but much much tastier since it's just a little water that evaporated and not the other components that make up the meat juices.
Thanks both!
This is dry brining, not aging. Aging requires some microbial activity to happen, and this doesn’t happen appreciably in a fridge over just a few days.
I don’t like dry brining a steak past about 2 days because it takes on an increasingly ham-like texture due to the salt denaturing the proteins
This is such a funny ad video cuz the topic has absolutely nothing to do with the product so it's just this jarring back and forth where its jumping between 2 different videos like they're an A and B plot lmao
Not complaining, you deserve to get that bag it's just funny to watch
I use a flat spatter-guard as well, and have noticed I can get even greater protection if I place some paper towel on it. The steam still gets through no worries, but the finer oil droplets don't, and I think it might also condense some of the oil vapours -- which is a major OCD trigger; I hate oil condensing on walls, appliances etc. Nasty.
+1, I do this also. My splatter guard doesn't catch everything, but with a paper towel I stop the oil, but steam still gets out.
Cheesecloth over the splatter guard is also good for this. A little easier for the steam to escape then with paper towels, but still catches the splatters.
I've found that splatter guards still let a lot of splatter through. The best thing I've used is a Frywall. Looks absurd, but it's very effective and fits easily in the dishwasher.
Plus cleaning those splatter guards are a b*tch if you are doing it by hand
Love the fact that he reuses the clip of him making a fire in the kitchen and his family screaming in panic, never change adam
The _really_ crazy thing about Adam is the continuity in his videos. Talk about lacto-fermentation one day, make an unrelated video about preventing oil splatters less than a week later. Okay, cool. Then the ad break starts, and he busts out the yeast demo, mentioning that the keyboard coating was tested with E.coli bacteria in the lab.
What’s the topic of next video we get? Shiga toxin-producing E.coli! With the same lady from the fermentation video, to boot!
I love that shit right there. Never change, Adam.
Splatter guards changed my life hahhaa although they don't work 100% of the times, in Spain we fry pork that has been boiled previously and it splatters A LOT, and the guard loses efficiency but still makes frying pork way safer than doing it without it

Ah yes the type of stove that's in almost every apartment kitchen. I wouldn't call them older, as they're still widely used and there are always new ones being made and bought.

Would never have put laptop maker on the list of possible sponsors for this channel, but this one works well.
It's cool how you turned an ad for splatter screens into also an ad for a laptop
It's beyond me how Adam can always incorporate a non cooking sponsor into a cooking video, truly an underrated skill
I'm never really too bothered about Adam's sponors (the man has a family to feed) but this is one of the worst videos he's ever done. Pretty obvious tips and observations if you're an experienced home cook, and half the video is just shilling a sub par product. Like the whole antibacterial element would of been perfect for his last video re lactic fermentation but it's like they couldn't reach an agreement in time.
I was NOT expecting the sponsor to be AMD lol.
Adam, you just helped me figure out what I'm getting my mom for her birthday this June. No, its not the ASUS, shed never use it, but she'd LOVE a splatter guard like the one you demonstrated in the video. Thanks!!!
Been experimenting with this for years since I _hate_ stove cleanup and I'm generally stuck with electric ovens. My go-to these days is to slow it all down and reduce. I cook from frozen to help reduce overcooking using a pan lid and try to both use the steaming aspect to my advantage and attempt to limit it's impact. Reducing the heat from medium to a tick to a tick and a half below has worked to give me that deep crust before anything burns. The steam then poaches the upper side which gives it a jump start for searing. And as a bonus, I've found it makes for a great stove top braise for beef and especially pork. Works wonders with frozen burgers too.
Damn adam, asus must have payed you well
Adam: Next time I show you how to use the 45W of the processor for deep-frying your vegetables
what a great combination of cooking tips and great laptop ads. i like how you demonstrate the microbial growth inhibitor coating using yeast
This is more of a commercial than education
Funny hearing Adam talk about Asus and AMD. Funnier that the test he does with it involves putting yeast on the laptop lol. Inventive way to test the claims, though.
Thanks Adam for another interesting video!! Would be really cool if you continue this topic, like, how do you clean your steel pans and skillets? Thanks!
It's pretty wild to see Adam go from just a guy with a good pizza recipe, to being sponsored by AMD and ASUS.
Never thought I'd hear Adam talk about AMD but that's pretty cool
Adam A-sus-piciously using this whole video as a long ad
Wasn't sure if Adam was doing ads for the laptop or the no-splatter cooking.
This is such a fascinating ad, an Antibacterial guard is not something I've every though of for a laptop but I can see the value
*crying because of the never ending cycling of cleaning dishes and eating
That was the opposite of the smoothest sponsor transitions you've ever seen, that Adam usually does: he confronted us with a laptop and mostly oily kitchen splatter as a problem right at the start and I was damn curios how he'd do that arc of storytelling. And in the end he even didn't really do that but made a cooking technique video with an integrated ad while getting paid for an infomercial,I guess. That man is a genious! :-D
when you announced the sponsor I had a come again moment hahahaha, I never would have expected a PC ad on this channel
Thanks for the tips Ragussy

Adam is the king of taking a sponsor and making it fit perfectly into his videos without making it feel like an advertisement. He took what could've been a throw away line in a video about something as mundane as food splattering and managed to fit the laptop in seamlessly. And it worked because now I want to go and buy this antimicrobial laptop.
Great video as always😊

Only Adam Ragusea could pull Asus and AMD as sponsors for a cooking channel. 🤣

Nice video Adam. I hope this will help keep my kitchen clean.
The one sponsor I didn't really expect for you, but a great one nonetheless. Also, lots of great tips, and I'm definitely gonna try some of these when making your honey mustard chicken. I get you said in that video that it's almost impossible for chicken to not splatter, but no harm in trying.
Over half of this was an ad. By far his lowest effort vid
I really wish the marketing team at the sponsor companies would decrease the amount of repetition in the talking points they give out. Despite ASUS and AMD being companies with reputable and competitive products, and I am sure this particular Vivobook S 15 is a great product, this amount of repetition is cringe.
Adam: "video editing is one of the toughest tests you can throw at a processor"
It really is. As someone who's been video editing for the past 6 years now, yeah. Having a slow processor really slows down editing. I think this is one of the better sponsors, and one I may consider looking into in the near future (my current laptop is getting old and slowing down).
Those Adam YTPs render heavy damnit
As a computer nerd, this laptop also happens to be a pretty good choice. Ryzen processors on laptops are power efficient so the 6900H is going to be less hotter than similarly powerful intel CPUs. Asus is a brand that produces good build quality laptops too.
I just watched an ad but I liked it. Great way to mix in the actual technique and food science, with an ad for fancy laptop
Wow, this is a real eye-opener. Who knew it was pronounced "ey-zoos?" This changes everything. Seriously, though, these are good tips.
That was a really good sponsor demo I will say
In a recent podcast episode you talked on the concept of having to "earn" ad time, and how longer videos can justify more adverts as they end up being a relatively small portion of the overall video. It really feels like you went back on that principle in this video, which is the second shortest in the past 6 months yet contains many times the normal ad duration, largely at less convenient times, interrupting the content. It feels like a youtube short puffed out to a full video length with ads. It felt like an April fools video coming from your usual stuff.
I really hope this was just a one off sponsor too good to miss, and this isn't a trend going forwards.
Thanks grandpa, great work!
This is going to really help all kitchens everywhere.
