That's super cool! I'll need to try that. In my opinion, all the pocket operator manuals are a bit lean when it comes to supplying the user with operational info. But I suppose that's intentional - one is expected to experiment and discover.
I don’t know how much of a secret these are, because I try every button for every mode when I play it. You’re right of course though, it’s not in the rule book! lol, I’ve started playing with my POs more and more since I’ve gotten three effects, especially the Sub (I think I use it more than the Hades or Erebus) for my bass, it just works so great! But the Factory is my most used, probably because it’s my newest. I will probably never be able to play live, or at least go somewhere and play, again because of my health, so it’s all in good fun for me anyway! I am glad I bought these while they were cheap! lol, thank you for the video! I always enjoy them! Oh, the three effects, Lore, Fable, maybe 4, luminous and the microtonic. Here’s my dirty little secret on the POs, Luminous! A quad pitch octave machine, and the Moore (which actually lets you change the pitch) so I can do fifths, sevenths anything I want with this pedal! I collect Reverbs, delays and octave pedals, so I have all the good ones! My favorite pedals? Not what you think, the Big sky is awesome, but the Moore reverb smokes it for half the price, Delay? Same thing Moore smokes the night sky for way cheaper! These are the stereos now! The X by Moore, best pre-amp, I like to combine it with the Behringer V tube preamp, better than a Marshal stack! Moore also makes the best stereo looper as well! And I have an RC-300, so this is really saying something! I’ll do a video on these after my next surgery. A month or so! I believe it is Teenage engineerings intentions to make a 2 for all of their POs, I don’t have confirmation of this, it’s just a thought that would make sense.
KO is sooo good! just got one. sampled a few seconds of 'stroke me' and had WAY too much fun. then i did the unthinkable & stuck amens on it. i may never put this thing down. just had to geek out somewhere to someone RIGHT NOW.
I've always wanted one of these, but i had a lot of stuff to get first, mainly a MPC. Now that i got mine,i still have some stuff to get,now it being studio monitors. But sometime soon in gonna start looking for one of these
Since your little jingle is a vocoder phrase that says, “Free Beat,” you should do a whole jam with various versions of the vocal tag saying the name of your channel.
Haha that would be interesting! The "jingle" bit is actually the bassline to my original track "Ghost in the Galaxy," and I believe the "Free Beat" sample was made on the PO-35 Speak. Thanks for watching!
Why did I think you covered this before. I started doing this after one of your older videos...I think the one where you specifically talk about how people were complaining about only having the bottom half punch in effects and the video featured the synthesis effects. Anywhooo...this was a tight impromptu jam, goodsir..nice key choice. Love that about the Speak!! I know because of a previous comment I made a while back that you’re not really into syncing up a bunch of gear (that you replied you like to keep it simple), but the Speak, the Office, and the MegaMan are an any key power trio. You can make a really full in depth track in any key....slap the NTS-1 at the end of the chain for sick fx, and you’ve got a nice slice of fried gold, my friend.
That is one weird song. I used to run to that album on cassette in the 1980’s. I always thought the lyrics were a bit creepy, like he was writing from the perspective of a mental patient.
Since my PO-133 microphone stopped working got the PO-35, Have to say it's become my favourite by far and yes only having one voice (plus drums) is a little inconvenient it makes it up in so many other ways. I'm actually thinking of selling three of my PO's (Not the Speak) to put the money towards a Polyend Tracker.
All of the pocket operators are pretty noisy, although on the speak you can access the secret menu (while holding fx and record, press six) and use knob "A" to adjust the noise amount per slot.
Thank you for returning to simple and budget friendly synths.
This could be so great for creating synthesised vocal leads over a house music track. I've just bought one!
That's super cool! I'll need to try that.

Sounds phenomenal
Thanks!

They were definitely more of a secret when this video came out haha.
I couldn’t get along with the Speak but I’m tempted to buy it again since getting into the KO heavily

Very cool. This has made me want to pick it up again.
Do it!
That drum beat is basically Mama by Genesis. Sounds great on the Pocket Operator.

Nice, thank you :)

Is It common to have some noise when sampling ? Could It be the cables ? Thx !

@@FreeBeat Thx !
@@FreeBeat Thanks ! You Discover everything ! Does Sub 14 also have a secret menu ?
I realized that high notes are better for sampling 🤔
It’s also a PO-137
That's really cool!
