    Thank you so much for this video.. I’ve been doing freshies for about 7 months and just watching videos along the way to learn new things.. but you never see people working with the detailed silicone molds.. I wanted some more silicone molds but ordering from Etsy sometimes takes weeks so I ordered from K&L Saturday and they came today!!! I love them!! I will be ordering more very soon!! Thanks again!!

    Love your painting technique...makes it faster to get the painting part done. I have a question about baking the freshies (although it may be a silly question). Are the freshies supposed to be bendy and flexible or hard when they are done?

    • @retailbyhales375
      @retailbyhales375  6 месяцев назад

      Never a silly question. They’re flexible when warm but when they cool they’re pretty solid. They’ll have a little bend but not much.

    You are very talented, these are gorgeous! I would be afraid to cook them for 29 minutes for fear the scent would dissipate.

      Thanks so much! I cook them for 20 minutes and they last just as long as cookie cutter freshies that I cook for 8!

    I've never made freshies but have a question, could you put a layer of beads then a layer of something like cheese cloth and then more beads so you don't see the fabric? Purpose would be to try to keep the string from breaking through the hole when it gets hot. This happened to someone and the melted plastic ruined the dash and console when it fell.
    I want to avoid this if I make them.
    Also, are there high temp beads?
    Super cute!!! Love the fish!!

    • @retailbyhales375
      @retailbyhales375  2 года назад +1

      1- I’ve never tried that but you might be able to. I think the beads would split away from the fabric but it could work. Personally I make sure that the holes are lower down on the freshie and that they aren’t too thin or too thick. Too thin and it’ll melt through the hole easily. Too thick and the weight of the freshie pulls it off the string.
      2- Plastic Pellets 4 Fun does sell high temp beads but they only protect for 10 more degrees than their original beads. They’re not much more effective.

    I tried the sharpie paint pens and love the detail! However I noticed on some of them the paint comes off onto the bag I package them in even after having been left out to dry for a couple of hours. Have you had that problem? Do you think its possibly because the areas I painted were shiny and slick with no rough spots on the surface? Maybe I'm painting to thick and it can't absorb it all? Any ideas on what it might be?

    • @retailbyhales375
      @retailbyhales375  2 года назад

      I have found that the smoother molds don't hold onto the ink as well. I noticed that the ink came off of the ones I made from molds I bought from China and from another mold company whose molds are smoother. That could definitely play a role.
      High humidity could also be a factor? Not sure what the weather is like where you live!
      Some scents also make the marker stickier.

    • @retailbyhales375
      @retailbyhales375  2 года назад

      @@amberhaley8871 Some people use scent free hairspray. If I shake my paint pens pretty well then I usually don’t have issues with them being sticky, especially if they’re sharpie oil based paint pens.

    Quick question say if the marker is runny when your painting it is theres a way to fix it after ?

    • @retailbyhales375
      @retailbyhales375  2 года назад

      Those are the worst! Sometimes if it’s just a little spot I’ll use a qtip to rub it off really quickly. Some people use acetone after and have had luck with that, but if it’s a big enough spot I just throw it away and make another one.
      I’ve have better luck with Sharpie paint pens than other paint pen brands. I had one brand that would leak all the time- Overseas from Amazon. I finally gave up on those and only use Sharpie.

    do you think putting mod podge over the cheaper paint pens would help? i’m just starting out and don’t want to spend a fortune on sharpie brand since i dont know if i’ll even be able to sell these

    • @retailbyhales375
      @retailbyhales375  2 года назад +1

      I would invest in one set of Sharpie paint pens, especially if you’re going to be trying to sell them. They will color a lot of freshies and save a lot of time.
      I’ve found that mod podge locks in scent and makes the freshie weaker if it covers very much of the surface. Small areas would probably be fine.

    • @retailbyhales375
      @retailbyhales375  2 года назад

      No because they’re thin but I’ve noticed that using a puffy paint or any type of sealer/ glue on a large surface of the freshie can. I would avoid using those in large areas.
