Attic Raiders Retro Reviews takes a look at Alligator, a sinisterly snappy game released by Ideal in 1980 to tie in with Lewis Teague's monsterously oversized creature feature of the same name.

what a crazy thingamy.
Mine does the same thing. In the end, I think it's a super cool toy with great box art and a game that isn't worth playing.
I know you've been after this one for some time! It's a pity that the mechanism for it seems so flawed, but can't deny it has table presence
Yeah, just wish I knew if it was produced like this or if it's just taken damage over time. Really hard to tell from the advert and there's no other vids of this thing working correctly.
So you could say... it's not Ideal?
waka waka
My alligator don't work either same as yours, think it's ware n tare tempted to take it apart to try and fix possibley
I was tempted, but those plastic body clips just look way too fragile that I'm not risking doing further damage to it.
Did you buy this on eBay in march?
I did, yes, though it was for an Offer, not the asking price listed. I also bought one in February on eBay, but that one was crushed while being posted so never even got to me.
