- The Mustang GT California Special has a lot of history behind and horsepower behind it. The California Special dates all the way back to 1968 & under the hood is a 5.0L V8 that pumps out 460HP. This Mustang GT/CS is a muscle car that you can have your top down fun with. There are many styling touches that are unique to the California Special. I don’t like the California special 👎 I got the 2019 regular gt oxford white everything is stock and all the vents are functional!!! 😃 I made sure of that I can’t believe the 2 front vents are non functional!!😏 why would they do that that’s stupid !! Great 👍🏻 review as usual Joe !!

Hey Joe! I’m literally researching Camaro vs Mustang convertible and my one question was which one has better visibility with the top up and you answered it! Thanks! Also loved that you flat out said you’d go Mustang. I really like it when you give a personal opinion and choice when comparing competing cars.

👍 Love the mustang insignia being off to the side on the front of the car. I’m surprised that this mustang received so many zonks. $52k for this car is fair IMHO. I’m loving this car. Your driving while talking skills are impressive. The car sounds awesome. Convertibles and the state of Minnesota do not go together. 😀 great car - outstanding review.

@@MridulJK when I got mine it had 5 miles on it, I was the 1st and last person to test drive it lol, now it has almost 500miles. Didn't get to drive a lot yet!

Almost correct on the origin of the California Special Mustang. Ford's Southern California Region Sales Manager Lee Grey went to Lee Iaccoca a Ford Executive and asked for the car. You're correct on the reason for the GT/CS, California as a state was home to twenty percent of Mustangs built and sold.

I am in the dilemma of considering if i should go with a 2019 GT convertible or Coupe. I am staying in UAE. My concerns are the 8months of heat + dust. If the rag top is cleanable, will it fade and all. It would be great if u could give me some suggestion with respect to it.

I would stick with a coupe. I think in the long run you will be happier!
Always put the back, rear windows up first, then hit auto up on the door windows. Also, Calif. Special option is $2000 and not available with all colors nor with the Performance Package Level 2.

I’ve been researching the Mustang lineup and I really like the CS but is not a common model in the US I wonder With Covid if it’s easy or hard to order one from the dealership and also what is the difference between the Gt Premier and the CS other than aesthetics ?? He really needs to GET OFF the "prop rod"(to each it's on) . . the rod doesn't bother everyone . . AND, I am with Joe on that DAMN plastic engine cover, I think we all should "ZONK" who ever started and or created these engine covers.😎

As long as they can respect it.....yes.
I’d say so, but keep in mind, they’re just as fast as a GT from 10 years ago, definitely not slow. They just need to be careful and drive the car carefully.
Insurance might still be high if the insurance company considers it a sports car

My GT/CS came with the old cluster and less red stitching then this one (i checked out your other video too (2019 hard top gt/cs) and it had the same....but mine cost a lot less... MSRP 47 and change and I picked it up for 36 and change... still I wonder why I got less....that and I don't have a subwoofer....gonna have to add one.

Some convertibles look awesome and other don’t, like a Mustang I don’t and a few others I don’t care for them being one. The hard tops are the best ones to me but that’s my opinion Ik other will agree and some will disagree.

Let's compare top down procedure between . Mustang 1st. 1. Unlock roof with a old 1960ish handle that you must grab turn and push it back in place. 2. Press and hold button as top goes down and when the top down procedure is complete You still have the top showing. 3. You have to get out and open the trunk and take out 2 plastic cover pieces and Clamp them into place on each side of the roof that still shows. Then close the trunk get back in. Whew ! Lots of work in 2020 to put the top down. Camaro. 1. Press and hold button top goes out of site and is covered by a real TONNEAU COVER. Oh yeah you can drive 30 mph or below and put top up or down. Shame on Ford. Makes the customer do a whole lot . Just to drop the top. Lol

There’s no way to make the stitching red on the center stack (7:30) because that is molded plastic. There is no stitching to change color.
Had my 12 GT/CS vert, since 2013, car has never had 1 problem. Other than a battery.

I bought the 2020 GT/CS. Black on Black on Black Convertible. 5.0 Coyote V8. I love the Car. First thing - hood struts and removed the prop rod!

I got my 2020 GT/CS convertible in Sep 2019 (velocity blue). I've been stuck in NJ for most of that time, but find any opportunity to drive it. I hope you're experiencing the same joy.

Thanks for the review, this 2020 gt/cs package is not different than what we have seen in recent years and is more special for what its not than what it is. Standard suspension parts, bottom line brakes,cheap and tacky rear deck lid ,horrendous tail lights and california script . no option for magneride or pp1. further on top of it all, ford has offered a gt/cs package every year since 2007 EXCEPT you guessed it 2018 the FIFTIETH ANNIVERSARY YEAR.. if anything ford did do right it's the non functional sides scoops just like in 68. ford is killing there own heritage.
It's a Nice Car. But, since I was an '84 & '85 DODGE SHELBY CHARGER OWNER. I need to upgrade to a New Shelby Mustang GT350 OR GT500!!!

Id rather get the mustang with the performance package.
2 problemes:
Ford quality and reliability sucks
Terrible gas mileage
Have you considered a Toyota Prius?
27 on the hwy is far from terrible and it was not even in the economy mode, that was sport + on our 2019 GT/CS. Try reading up on reliability....you seem behind!
So much for the ford's recommended 1000-mile easy engine break-ins.
