@OUfootballAuthority You like to Bash Texas, I like to see good football, hard competition and HEART. To each their own indeed, I can truly understand the difference in our opinion. The 45-35 game was so great to me because it was close, it featured two top 5 teams, it had several lead changes, the outcome wasn't determined until the last few minutes of the 4th quarter, it was a back and forth shootout, and there were lots of awesome clutch plays.
I agree b/c of the 50/50 fan split, but it's close. Along with Army-Navy I think these are the top rivalries in the game, and the ones that matter most year and year and yield damn good games most of the time even when one team or both is down a bit.
The college football rivalry of all time that will always be the measuring stick for college football rivalries is the Nebraska/Oklahoma rivalry. That is a TRUE rivalry.

It's like I'm seeing wide receivers, and they play for Texas, and they can catch, but based on this year, that's impossible.

That's because upon the formation of the BIG 12 the game was no longer played every year. OU/Nebraska, there was nothing like it.

In my previous response I listed everything that makes a game a classic to me. Your criteria for a classic is a complete ass kicking. To me, that kind of game is boring. I appreciate a rival that can bring the best out of my team and push them to the next level.

nebraska oklahoma? if it was a true rivalry it would be headlines whenever they go at it, its not, Texas/OU, Michigan/Ohio State, Michigan/Notre Dame, Alabama/Auburn, USC/UCLA, hell, even Michigan/Michigan State make headlines, but i never really hear about Nebraska OU

I don't think people realize that Texas wasn't even supposed to be mentioned for the NC game at the beginning of the season because they had the potential, but were "Too YOUNG". People don't get it! most of Texas' key players last year were freshmen and sophomores! And now they have the 3rd ranked recruiting class, and probably the #1 recruiting class for the next 2 years...in the NATION! Texas is gonna be set for a long time! I smell another National Championship coming back to Austin! Hook Em!

That doesn't say much considering that Sooner fans consider the 65-13 roasting of Texas in 2003 to be the best. A close second would be the 63-14 ass whooping that Josh Heupal and Quinten Griffin put on Texas, not to mention the OU defense held the Texas offense to -7 yards rushing that game.
