It still feels so weird! I stand by that I'm not a fan of the genre, but each game that I've tried within it recently has been an incredible experience.
Bloodstained is really fun, even if it can get really dumb at times. Glad to hear you mostly enjoyed your time with it. Also, if you ever wanna fight Bael _without_ the ham spam, just focus on the head that Dominique is attached to; the other two heads are only incidental and can revive after a short time.
It's super interesting to hear cliffnotes on this game from someone who's not familiar with the genre. Having been playing IGAvanias since the GBA era, I'm just so used to the storytelling conventions and gameplay quirks that someone coming in fresh and pointing out how daffy the plot gets in parts was very amusing. Also it's hard to tell from the footage but the reason you were having so much trouble hitting the moon in the Gebel fight might've been because you were completely whiffing. The katana attack's hitbox is pretty far disjointed in front of Miriam, so by being directly in front of it you could have been hitting empty space off to the side.
@@SpuddyCube well I'm here! And it was a treat to come along, although I did have to miss cigars and whiskey back in dunwall! Still I hope my summoning was of good moral support on this strange adventure. And what was with that room, how did it become a snake? By the outsider I've never seen something like that!
16:50 ive seen bell setups like that before, though usually in an even more open area. multiple huge bells would ring loud enough so that a whole town could hear them, they would ring a number of times to indicate the time, as clocks used to be hard to come by and expensive. also they would ring repeatedly in case of a raid or invasion.
I love Bloodstained RotN so much, easily one of my absolute favorite games. I love the magic in the game so much, it's easily one of my favorite Magic systems and easily my favorite Metroidvania I've ever played. Also side note about the Dragon you found while procrastinating the Vampire Boss, I two shot him with Va Schia in my own Personal Playthrough. Just a funny story I thought I'd share.
It's a really good Metroidvania, made by Koji "Iga" Igarashi, Lead Producer for much of Castlevania, who split off from Konami when they started focusing more on gacha and pachinko games while he wanted to keep making great metroidvanias.
If farming/Metroidvanias are at all within your interests, then I would highly recommend it. That does come with the caveat that I would recommend picking it up on sale if you can. I personally got it in a Humble Bundle, as it's fairly expensive for an indie game. Possibly still worth it, mind you, but expensive. Also, I really need to go back and rewatch the old Garfield cartoons just for nostalgia's sake.
there was a prequel game made by inti creates (one of the best studios) called bloodstained curse of the moon which explains a lot of the characters such as gebel alfred and zangetsu (who is the mc of that game) it’s a very fun shorter game that’s reminiscent of classic nes games(with modern gameplay)
I think the pigs are the only thing more busted than the ghost in the final fight since they bounce more. Also there is an accessory that gives you infinite mana. Gebels Glasses. Now I apparently had those when I decided to play this game with a mage build and at no point did I think to use them or even look up what they might do since the game doesn't tell you they give you unlimited mana. I just did the ape thing and went with higher numbers = better.
Nah this is pretty faithful to thr game it's meant to emulate. The DS castlevania are FULL of baffling level layouts and comically easy bossfights. And nonsensical ending requirements. So it's pretty damn faithful.
This game has alot of updates that would fix alot of the glitches you experienced that being said it was fun watching and hearing your comments on all the glitches you experienced
Nice challenge run- And yeah, the final bosses are fairly easy if you've spent a lotta time grinding like the game encourages. However, if you ever try to speedrun it, with it without the built in randomizer, they get significantly more difficult. (The randomizer is also kinda broken since sometimes it will softlock you by putting the Zangetsuto past the moon portal you need to open it... But it's pretty fun if that doesn't happen. Using full random progression and same type shuffle options usually works, but you'll have to find Dimension Shift from one of the enemies that drops a purple shard, and with that and the Zangetsuto you can reach the end of the game. The sword also is half the time in a breakable floor entrance hidden room in the cathedral area I think to try to not have that softlock you. In case you wanted to try it for yourself.)
Whatever you do: play hollow knight. i just completed the game on 112%. i picked it back up after some while and my god it is still the Best game i have ever played. yes it is Hard and yes i am very Bad at it, but i enjoyed every Minute. the atmosphere is insane, the music is insane, the bossdesign is insane (besides grey prince zote, we dont talk about that) and the City of tears is my favourite place in any videogame. i dont know what run you have in mind, but please, Do it!
I'd love to see ya play kingdom two crowns! It seems like it'd make for a nice challenge video, though it might be a bit too buggy for that lol, I've encountered several bugs that killed my run lol
Unfortunately, no. Looking back, I think I could have with at least a handful of them, but I mostly didn't feel the need to avoid all incoming damage. Just... some of it.
can you do a video of you 100%ing nioh? I want to see it because it'd be silly to watch you deal with the bullshit that comes with having to 100% nioh. Best of luck if you do it, I can only pray for your success. (Also do the dlc's, they are fuckin amazing. The bosses feel bullshit until you lock in and feel them out and find out "oh this guy gets demolished by ____" and then you enjoy it way more) Very fun game.
I briefly tried them out, but they felt more like projectiles than summons. I'm not sure how good/bad they were, but they were also really mana intensive for when they come in.
Bloodstained is *_so good!_* so hyped you're doing a run!
I am all for Spud's MetroidVania arc.

Once again, your video manages to make my day tangibly better. And it wasn't even bad before, so hell yeah!
Oh hey...the run we talked about like...half a year ago...time flies huh
I'm really glad that I finally got around to it. It was a blast to play through. Things just... take so long to get around to.

Lord Spuddy I was summoned with word you were heading out on a new adventure! Did you need me Lord?
Well you needn't do much more than (hopefully) enjoy the ride, but it's always a treat to have you come along!

The mysterious melancholy man as returned with yet another magnificent video. Thank you, my friend.
never heard of this game... maybe I'll want to play it after this?

It's actually a disconnected story to Ritual Of The Night.
Unironically, the Garfield reference *Is* relevant because of the new movie
Huh... I suppose that goes to show how informed I'm not with regards to upcoming films.
@@SpuddyCube Hey that's okay, it honestly hasn't been advertised a whole lot as far as i know.
In many ways, this game is a remake of Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia
Glad you enjoyed it

Uwwoooooaaah!!! YES YES YeSYESYES!!! NEW SPUDDY VIDEO HELL YEAH!
Oh hey, one of the two contenders for my 5th favourite game ever!
Don't let 5th place fool you, I absolutely Adore this game.
LOVE this game; can’t wait for a sequel.
I knew there were a couple of games that are adjacent to it, but I didn't know there was a full sequel in development. That's really exciting!

It's okay amigo I got the Garfield OD joke
For cutting the moon you can actually use invert to stand on the ceiling giving you an easier time
Honestly for how jarring the invert ability was/how good her other movement abilities are, I kind of forgot that it was an option.
I might be wrong but getting some bleach flashes from this video
I'm curious if you managed to get any boss medals?
Or if you're even aware of them, since nothing tells you about them, AFAIA.
