  • This video is about the Nautilus Lifeline Marine Rescue GPS Unit.
    This device can be a lifesaver, It's a battery operated compact, tough, waterproof unit that is waterproof to over 400ft or 130 meters. The Batteries can last up to 5 years in the unit.
    There is no registration, programming or wifi needed to use this unit and it operates on the VHF radio frequency that ships use to send a Man Overboard distress signal with the user GPS location coordinates accurate to within 1.5 meters on the surface.

    Very informative video. Just one question, do they stock replacement antenna caps? I mean in the case of an emergency and you pop that cap, it's easy to get misplaced in the even you want to prep your nautilus for the next dive.

      Great question Nabeel. I spoke to the company and they said yes I can get replacement caps ... will also address this in part 2 (tech video). Thanks again for a good question.

    Thanks Ron for sharing. Did you say the batteries last 5 years? or this unit last 5 years and will have to be replaced?

      Hi, that's a great question, sorry i could not reply sooner! The manufacturer suggests in their specs that the battery is good for 5 years, however in my humble opinion, depending on the type of battery you do use, the number of times you test the unit, depending on how often you dive and maybe choose to test it, you may opt for a three year year window as I have done. Of course if you ever have to use it (hopefully never), then you would want to change the battery before the next dive trip. Hope this helps. Stay safe out there.
