First, its 2019 and this is still relevant. Love these videos! Question: I want to make it so that when my player gets an encounter on the overworld map, instead of starting a battle it will transfer the player to a specified map where enemies are randomly spawned along with a "miniboss" which once defeated will transfer the player back to his/her original position on the overworld map. I cannot seem to figure it out on my own.

Question, I'm new to RPG Maker MV and I want to make a custom attack as a special attack. I can list it under Special when I go to system and then skills but when I test the game I don't have the option "special" in the battle menu during battle. How do I get the option "special" to appear during battle? I feel like I'm missing something obvious here 😅
i just had this problem and had to look it up, your actor or class does not have the "use specials" flag set, which you should be able to find under parameters -> skill.
If you create a new event, have a monster as the image, and set the creature to "fixed" or "approach," I think you can make the battler start up as an event itself. That would mean taking away the Map-specified battler info, though...
Is there a way to add enemy levels that scale their stats depending on levels? I’d like for some areas to have the same monsters but stronger versions of them without having to remake the monster
I'm working a classic ( Parasite Eve 1) remake in MV. It will be a long time before its even close to complete! I have made 5 completed games already using Ace! Custom Scripts, Animations, Unique skills, and some Custom Sprites... My biggest problem right now is how to select multiple targets on 1 boss enemy with using a custom bullseye targeting over custom selection!!

You can. You have to go into the settings and set the maximum to a higher value in the enemies tab. Then, you can choose which enemy you want via the image selector, and either use a custom character or a premade character.

I can help! Go to events, set an event called "Setup Battle" or something like that, set up if you want a conditional branch (if you lose a certain thing happens, if you win something else happens) or the alternate choice, which is just boot to the title screen. Then, choose the actual enemies, then you're all set!
is it possible to create an ability that will temporarily change the sprite of your character in battle? sa for instance i want a character that can use a spell/power to turn into a Dragon for a few rounds...or perhaps a "summon" spell that replaces the party with a monster. is this possible in mv?

Or am I totally wrong and this is calculated in some other way? Help!

Hey, SRDude how do I change the background of the battle, because when it starts the battle it does not have a background and just shows the world map.
When i try to make a tutorial boss for my game everytime i leave the area and come back they respawn when i want them to be gone until later in the game (erasing the event gets rid of them when i'm in the area and when i come back the event comes back)
I got you fam. What you need to do is 1): in the battle processing under "if win", make it trigger either a Switch or a Self-Switch which can be found under the "game progression" section on the first page) and have it turned ON. When the boss is beaten, this will activate the switch. 2) create a second event page (the option is at the top to the right of the "event name" and "notes"). You will see this creates a second tab marked "2" below the name section. 3) switch to the new event page by clicking on the 2 and see that is blank. Leave it this way. Now, in the "Conditions" box to the left you'll tick the box then set whichever Switch or Self-Switch you had turned on with the boss's defeat. With that, when the boss is beaten it will trigger the switch and replace the boss event with a blank event, effectively removing it from the game. Hope that helps.

Set the event as a movement route, if you want it to be specific you can make the trigger a autorun event (Like a cut screen), have them join the party then set a self switch and make the second page blank but make the trigger the self switch.

Also, is there a plugin or ability to script in mouse and keyoard battles that are real action based that test battle skill in a fluid and dynamic way like some sort of hybrid between Starcraft and League of legends? it doesn't have to be that complex but can you imagine seiken densetsu 3 with mouse controlling a party of characters individually in real time battle with skill shots etc.? I just know im gonna put my heart and soul into this and be disappointed with the end product because of the lacking battle system (forgive me if there is a way but i havent found it out yet). Please help.

I'm late, but I think it would be solved by making an event teleporting you to another area, and them making the battle.

Don't forget to give the enemies XP, gold, and item drops. Otherwise you get nothing for killing them.

My Battle test is completely off compared to when I test the actual game.
Instead of random encounters can you have the enemy (npc) trigger the battle and have him set to approach?
There's an event in page 3 called 'battle processing.' Use that for the npc with 'event touch' trigger.

Your tutorials are actually really easy to follow, except when it comes to the ones with things like the powers and elements and such that you can implement into the game (if you wanted to). alright, i need help, there's an error i keep getting when trying to go into battle that says cannot read property 'height' of undefined
Means placement of the character can't be read, have you changed your sprite size or use a plugin before the issue started?
No way to show the player character and like weapon at least with amimations in battle??
