Love my 2021 Nissan Titan Pro4x and it's American made and far more domestic then the Mexican made Silverado and the foreign owned Ram and the garbage quality F150. Hope Nissan doesn't discontinue the Titan.
Bought a 2020 pro4x a couple months ago, due in part to your overview on it. Absolutely love it. Gas mileage is around 16-18 in the city, and i topped out at over 20mpg on three hour highway trip. Really solid for all the power. Severely underrated trucks.
I have a 16 with the diesel. Platinum reserve. It’s absolutely great because it can tow how much I need comfortably as my 1500 was a bit too underpowered with braking. I have towed 19k lb gooseneck and got 14 mpg
Nissan is the most realistic with their payload and towing numbers. Sure other regular 1/2 tons tow more on paper. Even have higher payloads. Towing 10,000 lbs with a Titan XD is a comfortable experience. Towing 10,000lbs with a F150 is only an OK experience. Sure the F150 has gobs of power but it won’t be as stable or brake as well as the XD. The XD weighs as much as the Big 3 3/4 ton gas trucks.
i own this one, 2022 Nissan Titan XD Platinum Reserve Gunmetal Grey with the V8 Endurance. It requires Premium Octane (high tess) Fuel. I average 16-18 city, 18-30 hwy. The doors have an awesome carbon fiber kick panel, and a fold out deck with storage under the rear fold up seats. I drive mine everywhere, I put 40k miles in 4 months. She pulls a load like she's empty. full load of gravel in the bed and moved like she wasn't loaded. 10 outta 10 would buy it again. this truck is coming with me to the grave. we bought the Nissan Lifetime packages. i've driven her from VA to NH, down to FL, out to NM and up to OH. cannot beat it.
My XD gets 17.4 mostly highway. It’s heavy, and that’s what sets it apart from the big 3, light pickups that get paper towing capacity because they are light. But, they can’t tow with the stability of the XD. I have a travel trailer, 9600 GVWR, and my Titan pulls it well. It’s not a race truck, but it weighs enough to handle the load.
Totally agree, I have a gas XD and it's a good towing truck. There should be many more videos comparing it to other half ton trucks that claim they tow more and watch how everyone would rather be in the XD when towing.
@@TS-di5zw again, Nissan Fan Guy here… NISSAN should FREAKING do this!!!! They’re already wasting money on ads why not put this on the damn add? It’ll dig their dumb asses out of the financial hole they’re in and it’ll allow them to become Nissan from the 80’s / 90’s.
I agree. My f150 3.5 ecoboost can pull all day. But, with a heavy trailer behind it (8,000 #), it can get a bit squirrely on wide open interstates or going down steeper hills. The trailer seems to throw the truck around a bit. I am thinking about test driving one of these.
@@kirkraszman7998 You won’t be disappointed. I had an F150 too with an aftermarket rear anti sway bar, load leveling weight distribution hitch and anti sway bars and the trailer still moved the tru truck around. I have a stock Titan XD with only a heavy duty adjustable height receiver and I don’t even notice a trailer behind me. It’s so much easier and more relaxing towing now
The most underrated overlooked full size pickup on the market. The only one that’s still standard with a rolling 400 hp V8 on all trims, so you know it’s reliable. I’d buy the Platinum Reserve in a heartbeat. And I wish the Titan Warrior concept goes in production.
Love my 2021 Titan SV with convenience and towing package. I averaged 21 mpg on the hwy and around 18 mpg combined. I use premium fuel and it accelerates fast.
2020 and earlier 2021 XD models. Contact your dealer. Nissan has TCU/ECU updates for some of those models. Makes the shifts smoother and MPG better by at least 1mpg. It upshifts quicker. Very good truck. 1700 lbs payload for a fully loaded version. About 2000-2200 lbs for well equipped truck. Those are very good numbers.
Are you referring to the gas or diesel xd models. I just had mine in for a new hood latch compliments of the 100k warranty. I max my 1700lbs out with a 5th wheel camper. I think those numbers are conservative because I have almost no squat and minimal resistance. Sure wish I had that exhaust brake, though.
Loving my 21 XD PR! Tows my 30’ travel trailer with absolute confidence. Much much better tow vehicle than a 150 or tundra. Reminds me of my 08 gmc 2500 with more gears.
I don't think Nissan should bring back the diesel. For one thing, it never made any sense other than to try to add legitimacy to the Titan among hardcore truck buyers. It was Nissan's only North American diesel engine and it was not shared with any other vehicle. On top of this, the 5.0 Cummins has earned a reputation for poor reliability while the 5.6 is relatively bomb proof, especially compared to the Ford 5.0 and the GM 5.3 that are it's only competitors right now. The Titan may not sell in staggering numbers, but the truck itself is nearly pure profit because most of its expensive components are shared with other vehicles and have to be produced regardless of whether or not the Titan exists. The engine is shared with the Armada and QX80, the transmission with the Frontier, the frame (non xD) with the Frontier, Armada, and QX80. The diesel engine and the transmission it was mated to we're shared with no other Nissan vehicles and did not produce the sales or reliability to justify keeping them. Finally, the 5.6 gas outperformed the 5.0 diesel in real world towing. When tfl did their ike gauntlet comparison the gasser XD was faster and more fuel efficient than the diesel XD.
I disagree with it not having a diesel. But I agree with your valid points on why they got rid of it… my thing is they should’ve left a legitimate diesel option for those of us who prefer a diesel. Weather the option was a Cummins Diesel Engine that is actually reliable or a Nissan Diesel Engine. Theres a reason you would get a diesel and why all those other companies with Diesel trucks always have a gasoline engine option. & I would’ve loved to be able to get that engine on QX80 or Armada. I’d have both sitting at home with the diesel options.
Nissan Fan Guy here… They should’ve made their own Diesel version of the VK if they were gonna drop the Cummins. More HP & TQ means shit to me if its still GASOLINE. A reliable Cummins Diesel in a Nissan was great combination. Also, instead of developing the VK56DD they should’ve just dropped a good ol’ VQ35HR / VQ40DE / or a VQTT or develop a new version of the VR engine like a VR35/VR40 with TT’s like the F-150. They’re still borderline bankrupt so they keep making adjustments to save money but at the same time its like they could pick something to stop making to save money then the actual cool / good / premium things they already have which will dig them out the hole.
So you go fast Two things 1. The switch below the cargo light left of steering wheel , roll switch 0-3 settings? What is that for? 2. What is that thing on dash just above steering wheel?
