Thanks for this. I just received a scam email yesterday. I forwarded it to spoof@paypal.com by opening another window and reading some online info on scams. The scam email was coming from Japan. This is the second time from Japan, the first was shortly after filing my taxes and the email title was that I was owed extra taxes. They included an exclamation mark (!) in the title, something the Canadian government would never do (lol).
If you suspect that you've received a phishing email, check it for spelling mistakes and poor grammar. It only takes a few seconds, and I'll guarantee you'll find them. I got one yesterday, supposedly from PayPal, quote "Your accounts (has) been restricted".
I got an email saying I had 24 hours to dispute a $2009 charge to my paypal account. I don’t have that much on either credit or active on my cash In PayPal. How can someone charge me without me verifying any charge?
I wouldn't click on anything in that email. Open up a browser and login directly into PayPal and make sure your account is ok. I would also change the password to your PayPal account just in case. I change my password every 3 months (outlook reminder). I've got similar emails like that in the past and it was a scam/hoax email. PayPal usually gives longer than that to dispute charges. Again...don't click anywhere in that email, but login into PayPal directly and check your account.
Got an email from a fake email even tho i dont even have a paypal account, lol.
