I have a completely different layout of the portal on my laptop, where when i open McAfee, i see the option to activate the VPN for example directly without going anywhere else. In your layout, i don't see it on the first screen. I installed mcafee also on a different laptop (i can connect 5 devices with my purchase), which has your portal layout aswell. So far i have not found how to activate the VPN option here. Any hints? :p

As I found it is much easier to clone your computer that you've assembled yourself than to clone SSD of the laptops. Laptop's disks in many cases cannot be cloned easy way.

Great video and excellent explanation. Have a question though, is it possible to "copy" (clone) the C: Drive onto a bigger SSD and partition it during cloning? During copying the whole drive, create a new partition on the same newer and bigger SSD (say a D: Drive)

I’m going to uninstall McAfee soon. They’ve changed the past two years. Too many pop ups interrupting my work, movies,and gaming and no way to shut it off. Already turned off auto renew. I’m going to talk to gamers and movie streamers and see what they use and recommend. Since everyone is saying it’s hard to remove this McAfee antivirus and so many videos and scary articles about how to remove it I think this is a good time to upgrade to new clean computers without prepackaged products. Also I’ve been buying Dell computers since the 90s but since I can’t buy a Dell computer without preinstalled McAfee I will find another computer brand. There was a time when antivirus just ran in the background quietly without interruption. Not calling McAfee useless support and listening to lies anymore.

The new version of Mcafee deleted the feature to delete cookies and trackers. Why? This is a big disappointment for me because I always invoke this feature before I shut off my laptop.

The “Your McAfee subscription has expired” pop-up is a browser-based scam that displays fake error messages to trick you into subscribing to a service that you don’t need. They try to rip me off i got rid of that rip off anti virus program. I couldnt renew it i called mcafee they said i needed 200$ worth of viruses removal was bullcrap a con smh i had to reset my laptop to uninstall that con artist rip off program im warning everyone dont buy it!!!!!!

I would highly recommend clean installing Windows instead of cloning. I speak from experience

on the backup save options I don't really understand what the option "run this backup now" means. Does this have anything to do with the cloning operation or is it for something after the cloning is done.

i haven't had better reliability with ssd drives over hd. had 3 ssd drives sudden death fail. I have never had a hd suddenly fail, i have always had warning signs its on its way out.

I just cloned my San Disk SSD desktop C drive to a SK hynix Gold 1 TB SSD drive using Macrium Free. It took 14 hours and 25 minutes!!! The cloning was successful as I switched out the SSDs and had to go to the bios to designate the SK hynix as the new boot drive. BUT 14 hours for cloning a SSD from a SSD was totally unexpected. Good thing I decided to do this overnight, BE WARNED, your computer will be tied up all day if you do not plan ahead!

I wanted to bring to attention that McAfee LiveSafe does save logs on your computer of where you been and what programs you are using or have used. I was unaware of this before until I started thoroughly examining the application myself. The areas I want to bring to your attention is : Speed Up Apps button, if you click on it all the apps you used regardless if you still have them or they were deleted will still show up and you can't delete the log either. Under My Info tab is the button below listed See Security History, your entire list up to all days are logged of incoming blocked traffic and you can't delete your logs either. On PC Performance tab, Click the Speed Up Browsing button and click on Web Performance Boost, you will see a list of videos and websites of the ones you viewed and played and stopped without deleting the list. Now this is just a few I found that shows your privacy invaded by anyone using your computer and just opening up your Live Safe app and looking around. Usually security apps don't keep logs that you can't delete. This one apparently does. You can't turn these features off and you can't use another program like CCleaner to erase your logs either even though it will list McAfee but won't delete the history I found. The logs are internal on the McAfee application and cannot be deleted at all. I feel this is something that needs to be addressed by McAfee and a fix should be invented. I know alot of people are concerned about their privacy online and I wanted McAfee to know this and also the public at large. I hope alot of people will address this to McAfee for an update change. Thank you!
