Yeah because either the player resets or the problems after getting to the surface would get to them, still it's a happy ending even with the problems that it implies, it's something they can overcome and with the war already having ended and everyone being free it would end up eventually good, it's a good and happy ending for everyone...unless SOMEONE decides to rip their happy ending apart like flowey said...

Its not the feeling of losing a friend, but the fact that you will never hear their fun jokes, or hear their cute voices ever again. And even if you do, it will just not be the same.
