STORYLINE:
King Juan Carlos I of Spain met President Vladimir Putin at the Kremlin on Thursday, with the Russian president praising relations between the two countries.
The meeting was the fourth between the Spanish king and the Russian president in five years. The king is on a private visit to Russia.
The Russian leader said he intends to travel to Spain later this year.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Alexander Yakovenko said the two countries should do more to increase bilateral trade.
