He was a trusted member of the Jewish community, a well-known accountant, family man, and the father of a respected rabbi. So, when it was time to invest their hard-earned money, members of his community didn’t hesitate to put their faith in him when he offered what appeared to be a solid investment scheme. Within a few years, over 40 investors handed over close to R100 million, little knowing that their growing investments were just a front for an intricate Ponzi scheme which would ultimately leave them broke and in despair. Now, the scheming accountant has fled the country, leaving behind a trail of destruction. Carte Blanche investigates.

Whilst I sympathize with the victims I blame these people too. There are many Financial Institutions in South Africa that rank amongst the best in the world and they are not good enough for them and they resent paying the fees to the companies and to the advisors and the returns are too plain vanilla for them because they are real.
Once you leave a country and go to another country and its money crime related good luck in getting that money ever back or even getting the local police to help you in that country, this man just pressed the reset button and wiped his hands when he left South Africa.
Why not just take your money and give it to Allan Gray, Coronation or Liberty . I believe these people knew this was a scam because no one can give you such high returns without the risk of losing it all. Please people do not give your best eggs to individuals. Take them to reputable organisations
Why i run background checks on people, while making sure i know exactly how their job works. In some sense this could've been avoided had these people been more diligent, especially when it comes to large sums of money.

The best person to trust is with your money is your yourself after you have done your own research and due diligence The amount you invest is irrelevant.

He was my grandmother's trustee and we never received her inheritance. He stole the money after she passed away. As Israeli citizens living in Israel, my brothers and I approached the police and each opened a file against him, as we're knew he was now in Israel. The Israeli police were not interested and closed all files against Ash.
