I own both and do kitchen installation. I love the Dewalt! Does everything to perfection. Run time is a lot longer than Milwaukee, light is better, ergonomics is better, bit release is better and it's lighter. The only thing the Milwaukee is better is in raw power. The Milwaukee has about 400rpms more so I use it to drill the pull handle holes, various pilot holes and to secure the cabinets to the walls since it drives the screws faster. I use the Dewalt for everything else including screwing the pull handles in precision mode that gives it a the right amount of pressure. You can't and should not judge a tool just by making done holes and driving some screws. They both are great 12v tools, but the Dewalt seems to be the best one in the real world. Better value too the kit comes with two batteries and a multivolt charger so I can charge the 20v batteries too. All for less than half the price of Milwaukee.

    Great channel.
I won't buy this kit and for the type of work I have no use for this P-mode. I still prefer the old mechanical clutches on the drills as I find them more consistent The electronic clutches in both the DeWalt and Milwaukee are slower and they don't torque as consistent screw to screw.

    • @littlemilto6563

I did think the problem was why P-mode does it was because the battery was low in power and you have confirmed that, thank you.

@@littlemilto6563 The precision drive setting on the DCF801 1/4" impact driver is not working for me either (2AH fully charged battery). In the Precision drive mode it completely stalls out, even when driving a tiny #8 3/4" screw that I've already pre-drilled a pilot hole for. I was hoping this mode would function the same as the Precision Drive feature of it's big brother (DCF887) and impact slowly as resistance increased as you drove the screw, but the DCF801 just completely stalls out (stops chooching entirely).
I thought maybe I got a lemon, but looks like you are experiencing the same issue.
The Precision Drive mode on my tool is essentially useless.

Dewalt should put Milwaukee motors in their tools. Ive seen alot of videos where Milwaukee out does dewalt but i would never turn my back on dewalt.

Hey John. Milwaukee is flooding you tube with biased sales rep shows sucking up the free tools so don't believe everything and don't give up on DeWalt. I've guys around me with both brands and they're pretty equal. That's why they're equally priced 🤷🏼‍♂️

My Deawlt dcd796 died after 3 months! Drilling through 2x4 with a 3/4 spade bit, Boom it just stopped working no nothing!! Got rid of all my Dewalt stuff. Bought m12 fuel and m18 fuel stuff for my work.
I would take Makita or Milwaukee any day! Just my personal experience on that!

You can see it hit knot the wood started smoking plus your using a older battery, I own two 5 amp batteries one is 4 years old and has been charged a thousand times and I have a new 5amp battery the difference in power is night and day even when both fully charged

    • @littlemilto6563
      @littlemilto6563  5 лет назад

We have a problem with this question, you're saying 5ah. Dewalt only does a 3ah in 12v. Milwaukee only do a 6ah, but not a 5ah battery in 12v. To answer the next question. I posted a video when I bought the 12v brushed system from dewalt, the drill was the only thing we used and we used it for counter syncing but the batteries were probably only charged 15 times each, so they are more or less still new.

    Hi Milton,
Wow, disappointing. Really thought DeWalt was going to put out a awsome 12v after 8 year wait. Why DeWalt, why are you doing this to the people. All well, milwaukee still proves they are #1 on their 12v line.
Thanks for all the information and videos.

I don't care what this guy sayts or what y'all say I use the DeWalt in the field I've dropped it 20-ft onto concrete at least 7 times out of a scissor lift hasn't given me one issue I knew the Milwaukee will be more powerful so what we all have our 20 volt/18 volt I use a DeWalt is it feels great in my hand got a great light is shaped exactly like the bigger drills and for me gets the job done !

      Hi,
Just and update. First let me say i use both brands (Milwaukee and DeWalt). Not really loyal to one brand. Both offer great tools.
I tried out the DeWalt 12v a month ago and it pretty good and yes it has enough power. I do hope dewalt can make larger ah batteries for their 12v line. It does make a difference. I can tell from milwaukee m12 line. With that said milwaukee just has more options with their 12v line.
I do like the DeWalt handles and lights way better then the milwaukee m12 style. I also like the 20v handsaw a little better then the 12v. It has the same specs. Also you can use the larger 21700 cell batteries with that model.
DeWalt has a great tool line. Just that milwaukee has more option on that 12v platform. Yes, milwaukee is a little be more powerful but you are correct 2 or 3 seconds quicker doesn't make a difference on certain tools.
That's why i use both brands and truly happy with both.
      Enjoy your tools.

@@Littlelamb2023 I got the same result when using precision mode on a fully charged battery. It simply stops driving the screw entirely. Precision mode is essentially useless. I have the DCF887 (this tool's big brother) and I love the Precision mode on that tool. It slows impacts as it encounters resistance so you don't bury the screw but with this DCF801, it simply stalls out and doesn't impact at all.
