How come I never saw this video laoshi …
My laoshi always told me that my defense should be so severe that they already stop engaging after that. He also told me that one who practice baji should not be afraid of pain but embrace it… the hours/days/months/years I practiced with him on this were one of the best things I could have ever learned. Even the Chinese students who were practicing before I joined them couldn’t take it. He was so proud :)

@@bajiquan.online i'm a baji teacher and firstly a eternal student. I love basics moves as they are the foundation of all the art.

Excellent !!!! A part from the moves, can you also explain the combat use as well? I would love to see the logics that makes up the individual move. Because understanding the reason behind the move helps to learn it better.

Just a application question: To me this looks just like a continues knee strike altering left and right. Especially because you have to bring your closed hands back to your waist. A clinch sitution where you drive your enemy back so to speak.

This is not a knee strike. You deflect and attack. Maybe I will shoot another video with Charlie to explain application further.

Just a thought, shifu. Despite deflecting someone's punch or swiping their guard away, since attacks come in sequences, it is still expected to possibly take hits before xiang chui can be delivered (perhaps followed by a kick or something else)?

@@bajiquan.online Thank you for the tip, shifu. Looks like I shouldn't be talking about combat with Bajiquan yet. Way to soon for that. I got the thought after hearing from a Wuzuquan practitioner talking about how he uses the system. He mentioned that it is expected to take hits at times so his techniques (that will be more devastating and effective) might end the fight. Something about luring the tiger out of its den to ambush it. He was emphasizing that to tell the importance of their body conditioning. As for the 30-45 degree stepping. Luckily That was taught to me in Shorinji kempo before I had to stop. I practice that everyday along with the basic 1-2 punches they have and Bajiquan danshi and kicks.

    走外門的話,步法跟拳擊的搖擺步概念很像,但上手打法不一樣。
