- “Why did I wait so long?” That’s what Kurt Gubert, EAA 441434, said on May 16, 2015, when he made the first flight of his eye-catching Fly Baby biplane, a project that began more than 35 years ago. Find the answer in the January 2017 issue of EAA Sport Aviation magazine.
The owner beams with pride showing off this absolutely perfectly built plane. Every detail looks, how can I say it- perfect.
I bet it flies like an absolute dream. The years of work and the expense would be worth it if the airplane turned out half this good.
Wow. Some company should get a prototype certified and build these for sale to the public. They would be everywhere.
Beautiful airplane and beautiful craftsmanship. Pete Bower's Fly Baby will go down in history like the Pientenpol Aircamper.
Great video and a beautiful airplane. Nicely done.
Beautiful Fly Baby. Magnificent flight shots.
That is a great looking WWI tribute aircraft. Wish it were a two seater!
absolutely beautiful video, kind of warms the heart. the 9 who disliked this video must be the jealous type. they are the ones who pour beer on their morning cereal and Vaseline on their toast.

Kurt - I think I seen you at Brodhead. I'll look up the article in Sport Aviation.
Oh my gosh, your airplane is beautiful!
Where can I find plans for this?
I love my plane, a red Arrow, but I miss flying open cockpit.
Awesome!!
Are the fly babies aerobatic capable?
Good looking Fly Baby
A mini-Jenny. It’s beautiful. ❤️
So I'm guessing that if you do the biplane version the biplane configuration does not require the wires to be tired to the landing gear, that or he ran spars through the cockpit floor so they overlap each other and bolt it to a #3 and #5 former for rigidity. I'd love to know. Personally thinking of getting my sport licence and building one of these since they look sop good. Used to build the RC versions.
9999plato The wings attach to the fuselage the same as the monoplane. The flying and landing wires attach in typical biplane fashion. You can see the biplane plans at Ron Santana's Bowers Fly Baby website.
One of my favorite videos, I watch it weekly. The score works so well with the footage.
