Thanks Norm for this informational video, I have two or three with bad bulbs, now I think I will get to work on them! I really helps a lot, to see it done first hand!!
My light did the same thing after a year. Still really happy with it. Heck I have 2 now. One in both my yards. Even if it was 20 buck a year. Well worth it fir the bug it kills and I don't have to use Nasty chemicals. God bless brother
So mine (Flowtron BK-400) was slightly different. The part that “positions” the light came with it reversed to hold the Mosquito attractant cartridge inside. My first bulb lasted three years. This is my first replacement bulb. Thanks for showing me how to fix the bulb! Mine is back to bug zapping! 🦟
All I did was take the Zapper down, remove the bottom plastic clip, pull out the bulb through the bottom, clean the body, push the new lightbulb in from the bottom, and replace the bottom plastic clip. Hung it back up, tested it, and plugged it into timer. Done.
Ditto, removed the clip where the octenol attractor goes and the bulb was pretty easy to pull out and install the new one. There was a little weird thing where the new bulb was ever so slightly longer than the old one (pretty sure it's an official Flowtron bulb... says so anyway). I just had to bend some tabs on the clip outwards a little bit to make room for the bulb. Just like 1/8" - 1/4" is all it needs...not much. It'll make sense if you see it.
Thank you for the demo. It was very helpful. My Flowtron's bulb has lasted 3+ years but I put a dawn-to-dusk sensor on it so that it wasn't on 24/7.
That is a good idea. Here we have these really nasty No-Seeums that are out in the day. The Flowtron really helps with keeping them dowm.

I tried that but couldn't get my fingers in far enough to pull out the bulb. Glad that worked for you and thanks for watching!

By leaving the unit plugged in while servicing you can test your skill, like playing that kid game "Operation"
That sounds like fun!
