  • Blackpool Museum has been producing a number if digital stories capturing memories of Blackpool. Neil Robinson captures the memories of Bella Halstead and her decision to purchase a guesthouse and become one of the many successful landladies. The guesthouse named Birch House and provided accommodation for those visiting Blackpool in the wakes weeks.

    lovely ... my maternal grandfather Alf Thompson and his wife ran holiday New Bank holiday flats on Adelaide Street... his brother Alan and wife Betty - my great aunt and uncle ran a guest house on Bloomfield Rd - as a young kid I fondly remembering it being used as digs for Blackpool Football clubs youth and YTS players...
