Wonderful! Paul Clive was my Grandfather. I could only dream of visiting his magic shop as I was the first generation born in America. Sadly I never saw his shop or went to UK but I learned so much from him during the few visits he made to us in my childhood. I made good use of it for my own career. 😉

Frankie was the Redcoat who looked after us when we stayed at Butlins Clacton in 1969. Really lovely fella. So sad to hear he's passed on.

lovely ... my maternal grandfather Alf Thompson and his wife ran holiday New Bank holiday flats on Adelaide Street... his brother Alan and wife Betty - my great aunt and uncle ran a guest house on Bloomfield Rd - as a young kid I fondly remembering it being used as digs for Blackpool Football clubs youth and YTS players...

I'm a Blackpool resident too and unfortunately I can't recommend the place.

The last time I dined at the Cottage Chippy several years ago was my last. I didn’t expect chips which were mostly bits and pieces scraped from the bottom of the frier or fish that could have come out of the freezer at Iceland. I am a Blackpool resident.

May I politely suggest you get a microphone so when you do piece to camera, you don't have issues with sound. Otherwise a great video.

Great Karl.Very interesting

I know Karl well having spent lots of time with him at the pet cemetery where i was site manager. I looked after his beloved Charlie and Barney's graves and in true bizarre Bartoni style even his own that he organised with me in the prime spot of the memorial gardens. Ive not seen him for ages but remember him with great fondness. What a guy! X

The Stansfields were lovely people. Chippy never been the same since they retired. The last 2 owners haven't been so bad though, the last time I went.

Hello Udo, you are my great uncle. Since we did not have any contact, I did not know that you were into roller skating until my Dad told me. So I found this Video. I also did roller skating quite professional when I was young. So what a coincidence. It somehow must lie in the family blood 😀

I really enjoyed hearing about the Winter Gardens. Thank you for the informational video. When we are able to go, it will be top of my list to visit next time we are in Blackpool.

I used to go to Blackpool Pontins every year with my mum and dad and would sit at the front watching. I loved the Big Band.

lovely stuff! I miss the winter gardens. Such great architecture. Really should be cherished as an an example of experiential architecture. I love the galleon bar and all the interiors. Disney imagineering well before Disney did it and solid not just fake facades.
