The University of Wisconsin Badger Marching Band performing in the 124th Annual Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade on Tuesday, January 1st 2013. 2013 marks the 3rd consecutive year the Badger Band has appeared in the Rose Parade (2011, 2012, & 2013).

Note the nifty move at 3:50. Turning onto Colorado Boulevard is a tricky proposition. The angle is wicked. Left side of lines systematically jump ahead of right to initiate the turn.

That's the Badger Step. The Wisconsin Marching Band is one of the most energetic and talented bands in the nation. Members have to try out and earn their spot in the band. Some serve a year or more with just a ' half spot'. You should see their 5th Quarter. No one leaves the stands !!

The Big Ten has the best marching bands. That exaggerated Big Ten step HAS to hurt, though! And you have a fabulous drum major as well. I watched him during the pregame and at halftime. He is one of the best I've ever seen. So sorry you lost, but the band was outstanding!

Some of the best marching bands are from black colleges, but they say all the "diversity" in other colleges is drawing away their students! It's too bad, really, because those are some of the most excellent places of learning in the country.
