Same here... novice trumpet player at best, but I have been going strong for over 20 years now since middle school. Used to dabble with euphonium a bit, and played the horn in a couple of concerts. You are the musician I wish I could be, rock on!

Trumpet, trombone, tuba, and tenor sax here! (My sheet music skills are not good for tenor sax and trombone, but I can still play well, and pick out songs easily...)

The only thing I like about trumpets being a clarinetist is how the sound in harmony something I rarely hear in a middle school band

yo our middle school brass section was awesome we had really nice harmony
In band camp there were so many clarinetists in harmony with high notes that we blotted out the entire 150 kid strong band so the clarinetist has to play half volume at some points

I'm doing my GCSEs at the moment and I play the French horn but I am finding it difficult to find a brass quintet piece with a good tune for the French horn. If you or anyone knows a good piece that would really help me out. I am grade 7 if that is helpful.😀
Cheers man, hope your GCSEs are going well! I try and give each part and equal amount in my arrangements, have a look through my brass arrangement playlist and see if anything takes your fancy, if you're grade 7 you should be fine. As for other arrangements, I'm sure other viewers can recommend some!

Really well done! You have a great tone and the recording quality is well done! The only thing that really confuses me is how do you get the flugelhorn to play that low? When you say 2 octave flugelhorn in the description are you using a Bass flugel?
Thanks very much, glad you like them. The flugelhorn and sop. trombone have been digitally pitch-shifted in post-production to create the tuba, euphonium and trombone sounds as I don't own, nor can I play those instruments!

The only that I can recommend you, is to put more basses in your song. I'm also a brass musician, and it's the only the "bad" things I can say. Keep working, you do beautiful jobs. I love You. (sorry for the mistakes, I'm French)

What type of horn did you use for the euphonium part, it’s not listed in the description
I think he uses a flugelhorn that’s pitched down, just like with the tuba. He posted a reply up higher saying that he just uses a flugel.
Did you use an octaver for the deep bass stuff? I don't see any very low base regime brass here. It really gave it some 'meat', even if I somehow missed the obvious. Wouldn't be the first time. Anyone who likes this overdubbing idea and wants to hear some excellent vocal covers from a master at that end of it, check out Sam Robson's channel. I'll point some people back to your channel when appropriate, too. Not a one way street. :-) Probably influences about 12 people anyway.
I've been slfollowing Sam Robson for a good 10 years at this point. His arrangements are killer!
