There are a few factors here: 1. This is a remote area (population of Macdoel: 143 people) - I imagine there are very few resources there. 2. This is not a usual rescue situation, and it required a plumber's camera - I am sure most fire departments don't have those. 3. Sadly, a dog is not a priority... it's always tricky to get help from government agencies - this is why the nonprofit sector has to step in so many times.

I was so nervous watching the pup being pulled out of the well. thank goodness he’s okay. Honestly, the pup had such a slim chance of survival either way, but you took a chance, and now he’s alive. Thank you, Eldad and all the kind people who cares!
It was so challenging, and things could go wrong at any given moment. Even when I finally pulled him out, and Jovahny wanted to come in for a hug, I first rushed him away from that hole... I didn't want to take any chances. 😊

32 seconds where so much could have gone wrong. From him choking, getting stuck, or falling back down. This could have been a complete nightmare, but Harold must have been there with me to make sure none of this happened.

Looks like a Pyrenees! They’re affectionate but vocal dogs bred for protecting sheep from wolves in the mountains of France and Spain. Adults are typically calm and trustworthy, and good with kids (within reason; kids should still take care to be polite to the dog).
Wellington was so humble and grounded. He didn’t lose his cool, not even once! He’s the definition of “unbothered”. Wellington got his happy ending and that’s that. 😊

Looks like a Pyrenees! They’re affectionate but vocal dogs bred for protecting sheep from wolves in the mountains of France and Spain. Adults are typically calm and trustworthy, and good with kids (within reason; kids should still take care to be polite to the dog).

Si jeune et déjà traumatisé. Heureusement, Eldad, par compassion, n'a pas hésité à parcourir des kms pour sauver ce chiot (un beau grand chien maintenant), ce qui, vu les circonstances, n'était pas facile. Je suis très heureuse que ce chien ait été adopté par une famille aimante. 💗
