- Contractors Showdown is a VR battle royale that is realistic and tactical because it's made by Contractors, one of the best VR shooters of all time. Of all the VR shooters out there you've again outdone yourselves with gunplay and weapon mechanics. the map is gigantic and very pretty in VR and I was able to stream it on launch day without my cursed PC crashing.

The person telling you they had 300 hours was probably not lying. The game has had multiple long alpha ad beta tests over the last year or so. I racked up a lot of hours myself...not 300, but I can definitely see how it would be possible.

Habie is the only RUclipsr I know that can sell a game really well, without being any good at it.
i gotta give props to one of the OG VRBR, Stand out was a great game but it truly felt more PUBG then anything else. Contractors showdown is the eptiomy of warzone in vr and ive never felt more alive playing a VRFPS.
That game was ahead of it's time, literally, my Rift CV1 resolution was too low for me to spot people in the distance which took up 1 pixel 💀

I've noticed something about Habie in MMO shooters: what he lacks in offense, he makes up for in equally lacking defense.
The open size map is incredible genuinely incredible
Seeing it run on Quest hardware is honestly mind-blowing.
It's actually quite relaxing looking around the whole map while parachuting from high altitude, that's like a whole VR game itself.

ahh watching the laser shakes is exactly why i spent 3 years doing a phd to develop a vr solution to remove tremors for all laser interaction, i should reach out to the devs just imeplement the 1 euro filter on all interactables i bet player satisfaction goes up!
a phd to do what a hookes spring constraint can do, if you got your phd though I’m sure its more complicated than that

Played solo the other day because I'm too scared to speak with strangers.
Got second place with 8 kills and learned that shotguns in this game are lethal from rather impressive ranges!
Real life shotguns, especially with slugs, are pretty impressive with the range, there's a reason they are used for hunting.
Is that why so many people don't talk back? Everyone was way talkative during the open betas.
Yo me too! Been over a year since I've even spoken in multiplayer games. Try playing with folks and after a few minutes I'm just tired of interacting with them.
Buckshot which is what all video games shotguns use is lethal up to but not limited to 40 yards. Just depends on where you hit them
@@Verociity people who played the beta arent your common gamers. they took the extra steps to play the game early, so they are gonna want to use its features. most people that dont talk, one day start talking and inevitably say "haha i remember when i first played and never talked to anyone" youll have WAY more fun playing as a squad who communicates rather then playing a third wheel to random team mates.

Contractors was my first VR shooter. I didnt realize how spoiled that would make me. EVERY other shooter ive played does not have as clean and realistic gunplay as Contractors. And now this?! oh man i cant wait.
Ive been playing onward because its free with Meta + Trying to decide between this and Ghosts of tabor. Did you ever play Tabor? Im was a Tarkov guy So that genre is up my alley.
I personally prefer Breachers over contractors. Something about contractors movement feels clunky and gives me motion sickness and I like the way guns handle much better in breachers. Do you think if I try showdown the experience will be any better? I just don’t really like the way the regular contractors handles. Idk if it’s the frame rate or what. Just feels clunky and nauseating.
@@jamesbaka1206 if you didn’t like the original you probably won’t like showdown because I doubt their going to change anything with their guns. I actually hadn’t heard of breachers until you said it, did a quick RUclips of it and it definitely looks WAY smoother with movement, but the gunplay…. Dude haha most of the guns it looks like to reload all you need to do is take out the magazine and insert a new one without needing to chamber a round first, or pull the charging handle. its little details like that for me as a vet, that are huge turn offs.
In any case, i think Showdown should be fun and probably the premiere battle royale in VR for some time so you should get it too :)

When I bought Contractor$ in July 2019 it was NOTHING compared to what it has become.
It was..."oh, a new VR shooter."
The first real deal was Onward. Then Pavlov came with the GORE.
Now Contractors has Team Fortress 2 which is AMAZING because TF2 was the first official VR game. (i have some vids on my channel)
But yeah, I'm loving Showdown. I said goodbye Pop One.

Both are decent. Contractors has the military warzone feel. POP ONE has the quicker matches and fantasy feel

i don't like population one because you don't grab weapons with the grap button, and your hands are just locked to the gun at all times.

I've been playing this game since the first open test and it is fantastic. I used to call of duty competitively a lot, but I could never really get into war zone. Now that I have played it in vr though, I understand the popularity
I just had a cool thought someone could totally do. Train an AI using full body tracking data to fill in the blanks from only having a controller and headset to make people's bodies look like they're moving normally in VR.
I think Meta is working on that? I'm sure I saw something about that not too long ago
Yeah I saw a demo of them working on that exact thing, I’m pretty sure it’s implemented in some places like when your using your avatar in the meta hub thing
standable does that somewhat, not using AI, but will soon be able to fill in the gaps with the 2.0 currently being patreon only. The 1.0 avaiable on steam is also decent allowing you to have something similar to FBT, been using it on VRC
