They are both great truggy's but I think the hpi performs better and the price is also better ,traxxas on the other hand over price their trucks a bit too much, awesome video.
The strength of the E-revo is its 6s which is sweet while doing backflips and high speed bashing, though the chassi is durable but isn't that competitive as the HPI. The HPI is easier to place where you want around a course with much better precision. They are both great at bashing, its really just about preference and what your friends drive.
