I hope this video will give you some more clarity to making an instantly better outfit either if you are short or have longer torso. I am just curious, do you think you have short legs / long torso? Have you ever tried to mathematically calculate that? Let’s chat! ❤
I just wanted to ask you how I can tell if I have shorter legs and a longer torso. Thank you so much for the valuable advice you give us to help us look and feel better❤️ Ciao😘😘😘
thanks for the video this is what I needed. As you know I am petite woman but I have calculated my body and my legs are proportional to the body. When it comes to your rules I totally agree :) Capri pants I hate them I do not know how I could wear them as a teenager 🤣I have in my wardobe a few low or mid rise pants but I do not wear them at all I try to sell them (I do not feel good wearing them) now I only buy high-waisted trousers. I have a mom jeans and today I bought my first high-rise jeans with straight leg and cant wait to try them on :)
Very inspiring video! When I realised that low rise jeans were making a comeback, I immediately got 2 new pairs of high waist ;)) What a nightmare it was when we couldn’t find anything but low rise jeans/pants (circa 2000) Thank you for such essential info ;))
I do the same thing. I like a style of jeans and buy them from the same vendor on Amazon. They are new “old” stock, I have bought so many pairs amazon alerts me -“You have purchased this 12 times before”. I am still looking for the perfect pair. I recently learned about my long torso so it now makes sense why I like high waisted jeans/ pants I also like monochrome and maybe a short top. I am interesting any more hint you may want to share. I think I might go Jean’s shopping this week.
Great content! I prefer slim-fit jeans to skinny jeans, but I find it hard to make straight jeans work for me. However, I'm petite with short legs and have a similar approach to dressing. High-waisted jeans, for example, are a no-go; they go up below my ribcage. Better to stick with the waist no more up than the belly button. And dresses, yes, they can work so well to elongate legs. Thanks for sharing, Giedre. :)
Great to have you here, Mary!🎈 yep, the rise really depends on the individual body proportions and different brands have sligjtly different ‘high rises’ 😂 but definitely we need to stay away from the low-rise bottom pieces in all cases 😅 👯 and so true, a good dress = a good outfit🎈
Sadly, i live in a hot summer climate/cold winter..... and skirts and dresses arent always appropriate for the days activity, and capri pants are cooler, more 'modest' than shorts, that just look too casual for work.... so i wish you would have given some styling tips on them anyway 😢😢
I love belts but I've found that they too shorten my legs by creating a horizontal band. If I do wear a belt, I go for a colour that is not too contrasting
You are so good and knowledgeable at styling!! Thank you! However, it is extremely difficult to style apple shape women. The mom jeans does not suit the apple shape. And a shorter top like the one the lovely lady is wearing in your video reveals the tummy bulge which is so unflattering! Please help us apples 😊
I’m 58. Live in Bluffton/Hilton Head, South Carolina. I don’t like how I look in capris. Yet I keep putting them on Ugh! Sometimes I just don’t want to wear shorts or it’s too cool for shorts or too hot for full length pants/jeans during the day. What type of pants would you recommend when running errands, taking a walk, etc… ?
Hi! I get your point here and I would say if you want a lighter version of pants instead of capri pants just opt for a lightweight fabric full lenght pants in linen, viscose blends. Those great alternatives and yet you can still look put together 👯
@@giedre Agree! I live in the hot desert and I love to wear lightweight cotton (poplin, voile) or 100% rayon/ viscose because it feels so breathable. Long linen pants would be a good option to cover the legs, but stay cool.
I have a question about capris vs. shorts when you are bottom heavy. I am about 5'4" and at least 170 pounds. I also just turned 48. I always shy away from shorts and wear capris but I agree most of the time they do not look great and cut off right at the calf which is not my asset. Would you suggest shorts? I hate sweating all summer and really want to be comfortable. Thank you.
Hi! I would opt for full lenght pants in linen or other lightweight and breathable fabric. Pants may have slits at the sides or back. If you want a shorter version bottom piece - try out bermuda shorts around knee area. Another option to consider- lighweight summer dresses like shirt dress with side slits, great for both comfort and flattering look 🎈

@@mariabonariafois3476 I talk about this at 0:15 :)
@@giedre Yes, I saw. In recent days I've been thinking about asking myself this question, and today I saw the video. Looks like you read my thoughts🤣
@mariabonariafois3476 I am happy to hear it Maria! 🌸🙌

I think the last (and only?) woman to look good in capri pants was Jackie Onassis. Barefoot. On Capri. In 1970
and only :D true!
The other style icon in the history of the world who could pull it off was Audrey Hepburn.
Well, my 5’2” almost 79 year old body truly thanks you once again for helping me keep stylish! Many thanks!❤️❤️❤️
Glad to hear you find it helpful! ❤❤❤
can't wait for short torso episode!
And I already met a model, ha! ❤
Great advise, however, it would truly help if the models really had short legs.

Sausage effect jeans :D You're absolutely right! I like your videos, you are smart, funny and I learn a lot from you.
I feel like I make ‘new words’ in every episode 🫠 wello!😅 thank you for your feedback, I am happy to have you over here🙌🎈
I appreciate this topic so much. I'm 170 cm tall with a long torso.
This is exactly what I ment 👯 thank you for your feedback and I hope this has helped!🤍
Tops with a high empire waist which has the emphasis right underneath the bust are a real visual leg lengthener!
I have short torso and short legs 😅 totally short 😂
Same

I wear light capris to hiking.
This is my first time watching your channel and truly enjoyed it and learned something new. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.

Thank you thank you thank you - yes please more styling tips for us long torso ladies, thank you
I have short legs and I am short waisted. Your videos have helped me to work with what I’ve got. 🎉
Me too, but I am new here so I'll need to keep watching.
I love your videos - could you perhaps do one on a person with long legs, short torso and slim hips? That would be great! Thanks!
Thank you! We will try to deliver that👯🙌
@@giedre thank you so much!
In a real time revelation, I realized long legs have elbow near waist, long torso has elbow near bust.
Such an interesting insight, yes it makes sense but of course arm lengths also might differ 😅
thanks for theses tips

I would suggest trying out bermuda type shorts! They might be around knees or then linen or viscose fabric trousers or any other breathable fabric! ☺️

Older women + ripped jeans = "mutton dressed as lamb."

Lightweight ankle pants or capris that fall at the skinniest part of your leg.
