"This clip of BORN TO PERISH was filmed during the drum recording sessions at my studio in Berlin this March!
This song is especially cool for me because it started with me recording all the drum parts first then i sent the recording to the guys and they wrote the song around it! This is the final result of me nailing down what would become the title track of the CD.
I always try to come up with drum parts i’ve never recorded on any other CD before. On this track it’s the double kick pattern in the intro and middle part of the song. I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I did recording it!
An amusing story about this clip is, that I was so concentrated on getting everything right with the recording and filming that i completely forgot I was wearing my reading glasses! Ha ha - how METAL is THAT! LoL“

Cymbals- Sabian : 2 X 18, 1 X 19” and 1 20” HHX-X-Plosion Crashes, 2 X 19” HH Power Bell Rides, 2 X14” AAX X-Plosion Hats, 1 X 19” Paragon China, 1 X 19 & 21” Holy Chinas and 1 X 10 & 12” HHX Splashes.
Drum Heads - Aquarian: Kicks-Super Kick 10 & Black Resonator, Snare - Hi-Energy, Toms - Reflectors Top, Classic Clear Bottom.
Recorded and mixed with the Presonus StudioLive RML16AI mixer and Studio One Pro software.
Mics - Kicks Audix D6 inside, Snr. Audix i5 & SM57, Toms Audix D2 & D4, Hat & Ride Audix M44, O.H. Audix SCX25A. Room Mic RODE NT2. Kelly Shu kick mic mounts.

Listen here awesome band, Destruction... the riffs need to be written to captivate as though it was an instrumental with evil vocals overlapping and complimenting. The number of memorable riffs and transitions in the earlier work was astounding. These choruses lately have been a bit formulaic. Still good, but you set the bar high.

Randy's killer and so is the new Destruction. The band sounds rejuvenated and tighter on this new track. Glad to see them as a four piece again. \m/ \m/
Randy appears to be more than a welcomed addition to DESTRUCTION. His playing reminds me quite a lot of Jason Bittner. Would have liked to have had DESTRUCTION touring with POSSESSED on Devils Over Europe. Maybe next time?

It's kinda funny, most comments liking where Randy went, but I remember watching him play Journey Separate ways, and he looked much more at home...He went on and he just had to be this great technical drummer, but sorry Randy, it's not you.. You were the most excellent drummer even when you play ACDC. As a drummer I could see you felt it. You play the heavy shit great, but the feel you had was pro all the way
