I agree. But maybe you forgot the four years prior to that where liberals as a whole yelled that Trump was an illegitimate president due to "Russia"...I think conservatives were just mad and retaliated in kind after Biden won.
It's actually not as bad as it seems. 2/3rds of those polled are Republicans and about half think Biden stole the election. Expand that out to the general electorate, at least half of which will be Democrats, and that number becomes 25% that are nut jobs who believe Trump's propaganda.

This the weird thing about US elections, you have to register yourself either Democrat or Republican to be able to vote. In Australia and UK you just vote at an election and don't have register what party you are with.

This is about the primaries, though. Voting for which candidate a given party will put forth in the general election. In the general election, you can vote for whoever you want. It makes sense that you wouldn't be able to vote in both primaries, although it's stupid how hard some states make it to switch party affiliations.

It's looking like about 1 in 3 Republican voters are skeptical or uncomfortable with Trump. He's going to have a tough time with these voters in November if he continues to ignore them.
For the opportunity to see that figure, I have to thank Nikki Haley, and I'm sure the Dems are diving deep into the causes of it, and how they can exploit it.
@TCT92Graphics True. But having 1 in 3 voters oppose you in your own party at this stage does show that people inside the Republican Party are slowly getting tired of Trump. How many of the people voting for him are only doing it because they don't see a good opponent for him?
My point is that he's weaker than he and his supporters are letting on. There's a reason he's putting pressure on the RNC this early. I'm not saying it's impossible that Trump will win in 24, I'm just saying his electability is the same as it was in 2020.
Except democrats are also changing to independent to vote in the primaries and vote against Trump. They are doing whatever they can to keep him off the balance
@clickrick I think that one of the biggest mistakes the Democrats are making right now is that they are being far to "conservative". What I mean is, they haven't really campaigned or made much of a reaction to Trump yet.
Some of this makes sense, let Trump have his moment early, especially since Republicans are hurting for money when it comes to the presidential election.
But to the average person right now, Trump is the only person they see and that certainly can't be good politically. Also Democrats need to do more about the economy. Most people don't think it's good and being told it's good isn't a very convincing alternative to Trump's attacks.
Say what you want about his attacks, they stick better when people aren't thrilled with the status quo.

Closed for the R, open for the D, BUT independent voter must request a D ballot to vote for D presidential candidates. The big question is how long will it take Shasta County to count by hand their votes?

"Closed" meaning only Republicans can vote in the Republican primary (no independents or crossover Democrats can cast a Republican ballot), NOT that the polls are closed. Polls are open until 8pm...still plenty of time to vote if you hurry! Or mail-in must be postmarked by today or in a dropbox. So the point he's making is that the approval numbers are from Republican primary voters.

I am an independent who voted by mail and the phone is ringing more than usual today. One showed on the screen as a polling company. I did not answer the call.

You're missing the point, though: Any votes for Haley in the primaries indicate people who are not 100% on board for Trump in the general. Some will be, perhaps many, or even most, but some will stay home or vote blue.

On the question of "did Biden legitimately win" . The California numbers should be lower than the others because he already established that it was actually registered Republicans being polled. The numbers would be a lot worse if they'd filter out the non Republicans from the data.

Review the legal challenges that were mounted in 2020/2021. Review their outcomes.

California is a closed primary state for GOP. Open primary for Dems
Current rules for independent voters, which makes up about 24% of voters, is they must ask for a Dem ballot to vote in a primary. It will be interesting if the Senate vote total is higher than the Dem and Rep presidential contests.
