You should look into getting sodium hypochlorite to take care of the stripes and lines. Also should’ve done the poles. Even if it was a free clean, you’re there anyways…clean it for a polished look.

I did on the pretreatment. I was running about 4%. Post treatment would have cleared the rest up. He needs his entire deck treated. At that point you gotta pay for me to spray 😂

Remember, no one keeping score but you, don''t, you did your best. Second, watch a few of the older channels and listen as alot of them give some advice. You only fail when you quit trying so soldier on sir !!! P.S. buy some rainboots, they last awhile and are pretty cheap.

Glad you are having fun with your work. That is a great safety improvement. Looks like you used a biocide, because of the change in color from green. (As we absorb chemicals through our skin, I would encourage footwear, etc. that would prevent that. It isn't just biocide but fungus, mold, etc.) Self Training: After you do an area, look and see "What, if anything, stands out next?" I believe the stripes one person referred to are related to drip from the deck overhead. That will be an interesting problem type to figure out and experiment on. Not sure if there is a problem with rust, as from overhead equipment. Overall a great improvement. Brighter and much safer as a walking surface. Don't discount your soul by saying, "I did it for free." You had a good goal in mind and set out to achieve it. If you haven't reached your goal, a second go is o.k. You will be learning/are learning.

Thanks for the advice and the time to write this out. Yes it needed a post treatment and possibly even just a second overall wash because of how dirty it is. It definitely needs extra chemicals. I’m such a small business right now that I can’t afford it unfortunately.
Shoes is must!! I’ve gotta wear something else because these aren’t cutting it. Never thought about it like that soaking in. And I only did it for free because my neighbor is elderly and they are really good neighbors. Plus they’re trying to sell their house so any small improvement should help. Thanks again for your kind words!

You neighbor needs to fill that entire area surrounding the patio and stairs with gravel. Then add a few boulders or good sized limestone chunks and plant some yuccas and hostas for looks. Very low maintenence, excellent drainage helper and cheap. I hardscaped over half my backyard because of poor field drainage from the farm acreage we live next to. Im 54 and i do all the mowing because hubby works all the time. I couldnt keep up with waiting for standing water to leach so grass would dry out. So i had (collectively over 2 years), 15 ton of gravel with paver steps made from limestone and river rocks i got from creeks and hiking trails. I dont mow much now and everything is clean and dry most the summer.

Ok let me say this never use sodium hypochloite (bleach) on bare wood. I am a professional pressure washing company and there is a much better product. Yes, bleach will work but it actually in the long run damages the wood. I use wood wizard from southeast softwash for cleaning fences and decks. Also post treat with sodium hypochlorite is a must as it will remove all the stripes just put it on and drive away. I personally pre treat with a 3% mix on things as bad as what you had and post treat at 2% always. Now for the good news you did a great job for not having commercial grade equipment. But look at a machine that is 3500-4000 and between 4-8 gpm and it will look much better and because of the higher gpm you can move faster. I have a 4000 psi 4 gpm and a 3500 8 gpm on my trucks. Just to give you a bit of advice because they both have a time and place. My 4000 psi machine has 650 foot of high pressure hose so it is essentially a 3500 psi machine at the tip but I can do bigger jobs without moving my truck.

@@jennyritchie7534 Whenever you start your own business and decide to start doing “jobs” for free you can do whatever you want. I did this merely for viewers to see the algae build up. I can’t afford $100 worth of chemicals in a free video just to make Jenny happy. “Then you shouldn’t have done it”. Let’s break this down.
if I start doing the deck I have to do the whole deck(he’s gotta big deck)If I start soft washing the house I have to wash the entire house. Between those two things I just spent over $100 worth of chemicals. Watch any channel. They don’t do anything extra without pay. If doing the house they make sure not to hit the roof…..that’s an up charge or they gotta do it for free. You speak on things you don’t know from a simple video of me just pressure washing a simple patio and fence on which neither I had to do. It was simply for my viewers to see something different. I hope I was able to break this down for you Jenny.
Otherwise Jenny, you’re a person no one can please. I hope you find a pressure washer channel that their whole goal is to tank their own business. Have a good one Jenny. I love you Jenny. ✌️

I wouldn't wear them professionally, but honestly I wear flip flops or bare feet when I do my driveway and my walkways at my house with a 4000psi gas pressure washer. You don't shoot your feet. You should always be careful where you are pointing the nozzle and should always know where it's aimed.

He's a Pressure washing NOOB people cut his some slack, Try giving advice instead of name calling. I would go slower with the surface cleaner or go over the same spot twice at the speed your going. also try a turbo nozzle. Don't use sodium hypochlorite on wood decks and fences use sodium percarbonate followed up with oxalic acid. Most of the time you can get away with 1 to 2 % sodium hypochlorite on concrete pretreating then clean and rinse like normal then post treat with the same mix and leave it. If there are still any heavy dark algae spots you can use a pump sprayer with a mix anywhere with about a 6% all the way up to 12.5% to get the rest. Looking forward to more video's
