Originally the the entirety of S2 was supposed to be different. Look up Better to Sleep. Kenny was even supposed to be I'm Carver's place

There's a rumor that the final season 2 fight was supposed to be between Luke and Kenny. But a bunch of weird fans kept shipping Luke and Clem together so the writers chose to kill him off and replace him with Jane. That's why they brought her back in episode 5

The villain was also supposed to be entirely different in season 2. Originally, it was going to be Troy, and not carver.
The original version of the game is so messed up. The original ending is so incredibly dark and im so happy they didn't use that.

I think the Carlos not being a doctor theory can be chalked up to bad writing. Carlos was a very shallow character and it didn’t seem like the developers cared about him as much as some of the other cabin people like Luke and Rebecca.
There seemed to be something more happening between him and Carver, because after Alvin, Carver seemed to hate Carlos the most. But the reason behind their mutual hatred was never explored or mentioned
This game is breathtaking. NOTHING I HAVE EVER PLAYED has ever brought the emotion i had during Lee and Clem’s time together. Season 1 is the GREATEST STORY EVER TOLD

People say Christa was never found but I swear you can see her body in the middle of the river bed near the beginning of S2, where Pete tells you to search the corpses. SHe's lying next to one of the raiders. The corpse was a woman with dark skin, pulled up hair and a purple vest. I swear to God. I was confused why it never gave me an option to actually discover it as Christa..maybe it wasn't. It sure looked like her tho

Holy shit, I played TWD Season 1 about 3 times total, and I never knew the “Duckpocalypse” cutscene existed. It kind of freaked me out

The best part of the theory? It applies to the comics too, which is where this game is based in. (Example: Rick dies in the same way he arrived in the apocalypse)

@@giuseppefontanazza821 I have played through all four seasons 7 times and I have never saved Tenn before. Louis and Violet are so much better than Tenn. They haven't gotten people killed or hurt, they can actually fight, and are far more interesting than Tenn. I would have loved to keep Tenn alive, but doing that would kill one of my favorite characters.

@@giuseppefontanazza821 I agree with you completely, but it doesn't mean that it is the right choice. Tenn's character really never did anything for me. There were some times when he said some cool things, but I almost forgot that Tenn was even in the game until he got Mitch killed and let Lilly disarm him so easily instead of giving Clem, James, or AJ the gun. He is just not a good character. He was a good person but he wasn't memorable. Now Louis, I could never forget him. Violet was pretty good too.

I always assumed Carlos was a psychiatrist and not a physician. Hence why he was so sheltering of his daughter.
Why would a psychiatrist subject his daughter to that? It's not exactly healthy to hide away and lie about very real problems, a psychiatrist would know that.

He was in 400 Days, the dlc where Bonnie and Vince came from and he was also in the last episode of the final season where he was working at the ranch and tried to kill Clementine because he thought she was with the attackers. Eddie is my all time favorite character from the series and it’s such a shame that they didn’t bring him back for s2

The thing is some part of me glad that telltale games didn't choose that death scene. Since it didn't show Kenny's personality (just imagine, you are a Florida man and have encountered many deaths and have killed a lot of people, and you decided to commit suicide in such an adorable way). but some part of me is sad that if it's happened, I would totally cry since I was already sad on Lee's death scene

Honestly, that Kenny-drowning death sounds a million times better than the asinine car crash death we got in the actual game.
right? all of the things he's been through and this is how he goes? although him singing sounds very ridiculous it dosent fit his character at all
@@PurpleMoon799not really, i think it fits the chilling feeling. kenny was always portrayed as a strong character - saying how you don’t just give up, you keep going for the people you care about. but everyone has a breaking point and if you really deep what kenny has been through: losing his family, losing sarita, being alone for years when he said he went though a dark time, losing his eye and everything else, the delusion would make sense. kenny is traumatised and i feel like that ending is a lot more realistic than a car crash. the writers were just scared to not give him a heroic death (which he deserved) rather than give him a sad but realistic fate.

17:33 Honestly tho, Kenny lost everything, his wife only child, Clem and AJ. He wouldn’t lose to the zombies, I can absolutely see him want to go out on his own term (and likely didn’t have a gun). That is an incredibly fitting end for such a tragic character.
But that doesn't make sense he said in season one " just because things get tough you don't give up" so yeah he wouldn't have killed himself.
i know im late but i played through every game this week again and just finished the final season a couple hours ago , seeing Lee die and ten Kenny die less than a day apart tore me up. one of the only games to ever truly make me cry.

There was also another scrapped ending for season 2, where clementine walked off with aj alone in the snowstorm, sat down curling up into a ball with aj in her arms and freezing to death.
It's obviously a sad ending but i kinda wish there were endings like these and if luke fought kenny and such and such

Tbh I never handcuffed Lee, because I feared if something happened to Clem Lee would use his last bit of strength to save Clementine which I ended up being correct, he used his only free hand to shove the bat over to Clem.
When he's cuffed he uses his foot.
Yeah my first playthrough was to cut off his arm, but now that I know the story I have Clementine cuff the walker and have lee completely free and able to help Clementine any way possible
This game brings me from hating a character to liking back that character ( like kenny) or liking a character to hating that same character ( like lily). When i first played the game, i didnt expect much from a 2,5D game but man the game sucked me deep into its story. It gives me feelings like stress, anxiety, worries, sadness, happiness more than anyother AAA games that i bought. When i see the thumbnail Iceberg, i imidiately understand what it means about this game
You should’ve put the original “original” season 2 script in the abyss. It was only a rough outline but it was supposed to be more Christa based. Most season 2 events would happen the same way as the dark script except after episode 2-3 things would be once again vastly different. The Christa flashback would happen and you’d have the option to kill Mike but later on you would find something of Christas leading you to Wellington even further. By the end, there were supposed to be many survivors of the season depending on your choices. 3 would be scripted to live; those being Clem, Christa, and oddly enough, Sarita as she was supposed to be a bigger character. It would also set up a season 3 that would take place at Wellington but this was all cut after the early development of episode 1. Relics exist in the game of this script in the forms of your choices in episode 1, Sarita still being in the game as more of filler for Kenny’s character development, and the Wellington plot being passed along the Kenny. The choices in episode 1 hint that you can choose to find Christa on many occasions (With Luke while eating, the dehydrated bandit, multiple times with others from the cabin, and even when talking to Kenny briefly) though this was all abandoned after episode 1 was being developed.
Fun fact: one of many, many reasons this was cut was because they decided to end the series at season 2. Clementine was supposed to die from the blizzard at the end saving AJ or have an unknown fate abandoning him. Later they cut the dark script for obvious reasons but also to leave a possibility to continue the series for more seasons. Another big reason is the og writers for season one left at the beginning of season 2 development and the new writers cut their outline of a script they made to make their own which would be almost become the dark script. Sorry I know this was long but it’s a huge piece of the games history that is almost completely unknown and lost in the messy development of the season
Also as far as I'm aware, there's no evidence of this, just an old reddit post claiming it without giving a source
I feel like season three would’ve been a little better if the Virginia lake with Kenny incident happened because in the later seasons they start to lose how dark and horrifying a apocalypse should be like in season one. I’m talking about season 2, 3, and partly 4
Season 2 is definitely the darkest season with season 1 being a VERY close second. But 3 was rushed and it shows and 4 had huge budget problems and that shows as well

I kind of like the morbid original versions more than the ones sold and becoming canon. It'd be cool if skybound or whatever decide to make a small spinoff that has the original dark versions, maybe made even darker.

You missed a few easter eggs in season four like the Randy one, Clementine killing Eddie from 400 days, Eddie being based off a developer, and Ajs monologue if you look at disco broccoli enough times as Aj in the very last scene, also the tenn flashback was going to have something to do with the burnt down building next to the school that clem can look at and says “i wonder if they ever tried to rebuild it.” It was gonna be how he got his scar

I like that the games don’t actively contradict the comics nor television series, leaving open that it could take place in either or both universes simultaneously. Seeing how Shaun dies in the first episode of the games really elevates how the Greene family feels about the walkers in the barn in season two of the show.

With the part about Larry in the meat locker, you could have brought up that giving CPR to Larry would technically keep him alive as it would keep blood going to the brain
I think that Larry was dead and he was actually turning into a walker. Seeing as Larry was not breathing at all, plus his heart has stoped and only abt 12% of cpr attempts outside a hospital are succesful
It's weird because the comics and games are supposed to be in the same universe but that's impossible. Because a bunch of Hershel's kids aren't in the games and Shawn doesn't die until much later in the comics where he should already be dead based on the games.
I think you’re forgetting about The walking dead michonne which has a direct tieing with the comics
@@teamspiral1707 Actually I'm not, that is it's own issue. In the game Michonne is off with Pete and the crew on the boat. Where in the comics she is off with Siddiq(probably spelled that wrong, it's been awhile) and nobody named Pete was ever part of the boat crew.

this video was great. i’d like to add more information about the season 2 alternative storyline. clementine and aj (depending if you chose to take him with you) would BOTH end up dying in the snow due to hypothermia. the season was going to be called ‘better to sleep’. i heard it from the developers commentary featuring gavin hammond. you should definitely check them out!!

Fantastic video. Very few games hit me as hard on completion as the TTWD series. I connected emotionally with the characters, and got very immersed in the world. I also got really attached to Clem! I really love iceberg videos, I especially enjoyed watching the Half-Life one. That's why I'm so happy that you made one of these for TTWD! I didn't know most of this, and it was really cool to watch - your narration is great. You've earned a sub man, cheers :)

"They clearly want you to save Doug rather than Carley" ... what? Support this argument please. Doug has techie knowledge in a world without electricity, is bad around zombies, and has socks+sandals. Carley is a crack shot, good with a gun, a noscope artist, has leet pistol skills, and apparently she's pretty good with a gun. Bad with batteries though.

Great video I’ve watched a lot of cut content stuff on the walking dead, this series is so good to me and I’m devastated that we won’t get another season.
If they were planning for Clementine to see a Tiger it would of been in reference to the Tiger in the source material, the comics. They probably chose not to because of the time line since Shiva the tiger would not of been in that location at that point and it couldn’t of worked story wise since they wanted the game to be canon to the comics.

I cant remember how it was found but im pretty sure people found that in the files or through a leak, that Luke was meant to fight Kenny in the Season 2 finale, something about his name being put in during the sequence or something.

You could add to the Abyss that apparently Wellington was planned as early as post development of S1E5. The writers for the first season had already planned Christa to live and make it to Wellington with you and the baby, likely was planned to be Christa’s at the time and Wellington was to be the “happily ever after” to the series and end there. Then a lot of those writers left before they coul make a complete draft that made it to that ending. Bits could be seen as S2E1 focused on 2 mysteries; Who is Carver and where is Christa? Then you can see where the new story ideas started falling into place with the Christa plot being dropped and eventually the Kenny is Carver idea was dropped as you leave the cabin and find him elsewhere instead of the original plotted course for the story.
Some things were unknown to me indeed, yet cannot say it was totally picture-changing.
Jesus fucking Christ that alternate storyline to Season 2 makes the actual one look like Care Bears. I'm having anxiety just thinking about it.
