Teare needs to pick an event - I think the 5K is his better event, and he needs to stick with one. The 1500 rounds were useless to fatigue him. Or try the Steeplechase!!!!
Hes a 5k/10k guy for sure. We saw Drew Hunter have his best day at the 10k because he decided not to focus on the 1500. He knew he wouldn’t be able to compete at that distance to make the team.
Running the 1500 was the worst thing he could have done. He can't compete with Naguse and Hocker, and putting all your chips on getting that final spot with all the other competition in the 1500 is not a good idea. He is probably the 2nd or 3rd best 5000 m guy in the USA...stick with that!

@@christiansantana4869 I 100% agree with you and you have some pretty good examples. championship setting is definitely different and if he hadn’t run the 1500s he probably has a better chance. I just think it’s overplaying it to say he would’ve been a lock in for 3rd
@@brucebogtrotter3430 it’s cause Teare has to accept he’s not a miler. He’s fast for sure, but just not fast enough to keep up with our trio we’re sending to Paris. He’s a 5K runner at heart

Yup, no reason he shouldn't be an Olympian
Totally agree. Damn shame a guy of this quality stays home. Some people are not meant to double, especially with the current depth of competitor.
@@Arturo-sm1tb Particularly w/the challenges he's experienced running in the heat.
He needs to stop trying to qualify in the 1500. He isn’t a 1500M guy.

I agree 100%
You are a 5K runner!!! Forever a fan but you’re not washed! You have to stay fresh and go all in
I agree. He’s built for the 5k.
hes washed
@@_cat___8059 he ran 12:54 for the 5K this year??? He was simply too tired from the 1500 races beforehand.
@@christiansantana4869 yes he was too tired because he is washed
Sad Cooper didn’t make it. Now we all have to wonder if he hadn’t run the 1500 would he have qualified for the 5k…

I'd say second maybe at his best can break 12:50
Look I don’t want to downplay Cooper Teare, but at his very best he’s a 3rd place 5k guy. He wouldn’t have come close to Grant or Abdi

Doubling up cost him a place in Paris. Coach/management let the young lad down. A lesson learnt and all the wiser.
He has no one to blame but himself. Are Grant Fishers coaches responsible for his double? The buck stops with Teare.

This guy is good for a time trial a year - that’s it
What’s going on with him? 3:50 miler in college and 4th at trials in 5k in 2021, missed it by a hair. He’s taken a step back last couple years.
and he ran a 12:53 recently
He’s been so stubborn. Changing coaches and all just bc he thinks he’s a 1500 guy. He’s always been a 3K and up runner.
