I do exactly as in the tutorial and I get dddd. The weekday fonction works but I can't change to format to get the name of the day. I'm using the latest Excel version. Any advice?
How can I accomplish the following: I want to create a scenario where I enter a date into any cell in the worksheet, the cell then returns the day of the week, i.e. Tuesday, then does some conditional formatting to this value so the cell turns the color yellow. So when the value is 'Tuesday', which was converted from a date value, the cell turns yellow and also keeps the value of 'Tuesday' when I enter a date, i.e. 1/24/2023 Does this make sense and if so how can I accomplish this? Thanks
For some can't-figure-it-out-reason, when I click OK, it just shows the =WEEKDAY(C2) formula in the cell...not the number that I'd then need to format - ??
In & out time I will choose myself but it would be fixed value for all, I just want to change the Day name and time should be also change accordingly, Monday to Saturday (In time 09:30 & Out time 18:00 , Sunday off)
So Excel makes a function called WEEKDAY function, and it returns an integer that you have to correct with cell formatting ("dddd") to display the weekday.
OMG. So straight forward. Searched so many videos. lol Thank you so much!
Thanks dude. Appreciate that help. Now conditional format!

That's also my case
Excellent
very good
Thank you for the concise and informative video.
I want a function with which to separate first name and last name if combined in a cell if there is.
You can use Len Function and LEFT Right Function.

Hi,
I want to add In time and Out time in the next two columns automatically, is it possible ?? Plz explain how?

Tell me about Macro to auto mail a report
Looking for day of the week as a single text eg, Sunday as S, Monday as M
The formula I use at work requires no formatting at all, it just gives you the day automatically.... =TEXT(A1,"dddd") If the date was in cell A1
How to automatically change the date on an employee schedule, without having to go to
each day to change the date?
So Excel makes a function called WEEKDAY function, and it returns an integer that you have to correct with cell formatting ("dddd") to display the weekday.
