    About the album:
    Joe Satriani's most recent album is the springboard and creative center for his alter ego "Shockwave Supernova," the outlandish and extroverted 'performance side' of the normally shy and reserved guitar virtuoso. With this new persona as partner, Satriani launched his wildly ambitious 15th solo album, Shockwave Supernova.

    I don't understand those of you who say they want :"something more complicated". Satch has never been about "how complicated" a song is. He's a song writer and writes to the song. Complicated does not equate to great music.

      I think if you listen and also try to play his rhythm sections you'll understand how he's actually doing complicated things but makes them sound beautiful and simple. That's how masterful he is. To make complicated sound simple and elegant. Absolutely brilliant.

    • @CycoBaron
      @CycoBaron 4 года назад +6

      Absolutely correct! All those widdly bits and mini solo's and stuff the likes that Steve Vai (Whom I also like - but he's no Joe), they're not needed.Joe is a master songwriter. He can make me feel emotions that no other guitarist can. It's a master of music.

    • @jeffeklund2224
      @jeffeklund2224 4 года назад +4

      Agreed 100%! He has stated this in interviews as well. It has to be musical. His sense of melody is what makes him such a genius. Ironically, he often gets criticized for being too fast, too complicated, playing too many notes, etc. The truth is, no one can bridge the gap between complicated/creative and musical like he does.

    • @destiny-theseries
      @destiny-theseries 4 года назад

      @@Bret_Sanor It's sophisticated, and sometimes complicated. It's not complicated because that is the melody, not just to be complicated.

    A música têm a assinatura de Satriani. Muito boa e têm uma boa pegada, um groove que para nós brasileiros remetemos ao som do nordeste. Satch faz algo que muitos de nós não fazemos: "Expandir a sua capacidade intelectual através da música". Isso faz dele uma pessoa sem fronteiras. É um ser universal! Um ser de outro mundo! É por isso que ele é um gênio!

    Has a live quality to it. Like his last 2 records. This song has a bit of the 'Time Machine' style to it. Long drawn out phrasing. Soaring and emotional. Never a pick-click or brutish note. Clean and controlled. Tone is up there with Gilmour. Vision and grace over 3 decade period; unmatched. Noone will ever surpass Satriani's body of work.

    I do believe and always have felt that Joe is in fact an alien, since nobody plays a guitar like this. Absolutely amazing as always.

    This is the best!! Joe Satriani is just a living legend he has more talent in his pinkie finger than Justin Bieber, Nikki Manaj, Kayne West, any other modern pop "rock" artist has in their entire bodies combined
