I wear a silk scarf under my wig cap. I am going to start making wig caps with the silk scarf inside to cut down on bulk. Also, I saw another video where the lady put silk around the edges of the wig.
Thats an amazing idea! I think you should run and trademark that idea if it isn’t already. So many people are losing their edges because of not knowing any other way to protect their edges while wearing wigs! I wish I thought of something like that before I stopped wearing wigs. So clever 🔥
The trick I use to retain length in my naps and edges is that I buy the wigs thar says they are glueless and I use the band in the wig as my comb. I take out the combs if not I keep it there but done necessary use it. I also dont wear wig caps like that 😭 I be free balling underneath there but that has helped me grow that out and I braid my nape, crown of my head and my edges separately away from the rest of of my har as well. Spray moisturize every week, oil two times a week and re do braids or my mini twist every 2 weeks
I had a similar experience and I started wrapping a silk scarf underneath my bonnet (it’s a small scarf so I still need the bonnet) and so far my nape and edges have been fine plus, my styles lay flatter
lol, wigs are beyond protective for me, I have only just started having more fun with them. Might be a mid life crisis,but I like the longer lengths, as I typically used to be a 12 inch person, even 14 felt too long in a wig but now I am fully grown, I am having a lot of fun, whilst obviously caring for my own hair, using minimal but effective moisturisation (not store bought) and now my iron levels are better I am hoping she flourishes.
