Washed my twists & they turned into locs lawd. Wish I had watched this video first & read the comment about leaving the roots loose & banding the rest of the length🙆🏾‍♀️

My hair is so thick that when I do leave it in for so long it gets tangled and matted 😢 maybe I’m not washing it enough/frequently when it’s in the braids? 🤷🏽‍♀️

14:04 + 15:40 yes. i hate the idea that natural hair is hard or even *significantly* harder to take care of than other hair types. and i hate even more how so many people say it like it’s a fact. same with the “genetics” argument when it comes to hair growth meanwhile by genetics they mean: *g*- getting good products that support their hair porosity and maintain moisture and hydration *e*- eating right and getting all their calories + vitamins *n*- not avoiding wash day and keeping their scalp cleansed and not doing anything in general to irritate it + not avoiding water bc it will “mess up your hair” when water is really your bff for moisture and bomb natural hairstyles *e*- exercising regularly to stimulate blood flow *t*- taking time to get to know your hair instead of always scrambling to make it look “acceptable” *i*- identifying with your real hair and realizing it can be a source of beauty + actually being nice to it instead of treating it like a burden. working with it instead of against it. not comparing your hair to everyone else’s. *c*- carefully detangling and avoiding things that cause breakage like tight hairstyles and rough scrunchies *s*- stimulating hair growth with things like scalp massages 💗🎀

I do a full sew in and keep it in 3 months at a time and my braids looks the exact same when I take it out. It’s been a year and my hair went from shoulder length to mid back that fast. The end of this year it should be waist length

My hair grew 6in from January to June doing just this. My hair is finer so I had to do take downs every two weeks to prevent as much shedding as possible. Plus my end are ridiculously split and I need to cut them. But I get scissor happy very easy
