    Fun fact: if you plot the angle of the lever and the height of the yoke shaft, you can make a some and cosine graph

    This is just what I was looking for...sort of...your yoke is effectively driving an archimedes trammel...which means if you fixed a fixed-distance spar between the orange and blue yokes on rotating bearings, you could have a pin at another point on the spar which described an ellipse...
    ...and if you put a yoke on that pin...hey presto - Elliptical Scotch Yoke! Or am I wrong..it's just I can't find an elliptical scotch yoke...but I believe a trammel engine could drive one...
