There is no actual unit of currency called the petrodollar. It's a term used in reference to the agreement between the US and OPEC nations that agree to use the dollar to sell their oil.

@@greywolf2622 try to find the agreement or an announcment of it . The only current agreement in question between the USA and SA is about mutual protection pact. But that is not a currency agreement, it may IMPACT it as SA is more likely to use USD but the truth is that SA has been trading oil in other currencies for some time already.
