- Former White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney believes Ben Carson is at the “top of the list” for Donald Trump’s running mate.
“The list [for Donald Trump’s running mate] is not any shorter now than it has been over the last month,” Mr Mulvaney told Sky News Australia.
“Trump has finally said he expects to announce it at the Convention at the end of July.
“I still think Ben Carson … is at the top of the list.”

Also, think about who Trump picked last time, even though Pence turned out to be a useless traitor, he was soft spoken with an even temperament. I think Dr. Carson is exactly the type of man that Trump will choose. I do love Byron Donalds but he's still young and he's very outgoing and dynamic. He will make a great president one day for sure.

Carson is highly intelligent and I have nothing but respect for the man, but he's to laid back and mellow to inspire voters. This election is going to be all out war and the Repubs need someone with more fire in their belly.
He's absolutely a great choice. He's not eyeing the presidency so he can give total loyalty to Trump. Unlike Pence who desired the backing of the swamp, ( And was probably just another swamp rat himself).

Oh, I love Dr. Carson! That would be incredible. He comes off as an extremely trustworthy, very caring, non-politician that loves his country and loves people. Out of all the names floated, Ben Carson would be the most trusted and less likely to try and gain political favor from the position. His calming demeanor would complement Trump's personality and may give them a better chance at victory. Though, if grooming the VP for a 2028 run is highly important, he might not be the best choice.

Carson is a good choice, and would do a big benefit for Trump, but not like Tim Scott would... Scott is a two-term senator, which means he's experienced. Scott has served on many committees, and Carson though I like him - has only served as an appointee.
If that ends up being his choice, though not the choice I would make for, he'll be well served.

I love Dr.Carson, there isn't a more honest and intelligent man alive. I know his entire life story and I have followed him way before he made the scene at the WH at the prayer breakfast. There is a reason he speaks quietly, he had a pathological temper when he was a young boy, and nearly killed a gang member by stabbing him in his belly, but the blade broke on the kid's belt buckle. He was so angry at his mom he tried to hit her on the head with a hammer until his brother stopped him. Also, this man is the most renown pediatric neurosurgeon in the world, he was the first to separate German Siamese Twins from the Head. He had to put together a team of over 70 medical experts it took three or four months. The actual surgery took over 24 hours with Dr. Carson not taking a break. Now if he was throwing instruments, screaming at those involved, and creating a chaotic atmosphere, he certainly wouldn't be a good surgeon. My son is a physician, he had an awful surgeon his surgical rounds were a nightmare with this man throwing instruments, screaming, very unkind to the medical students in general. My son wanted to do his fellowship in surgery, but after this doctor, he didn't want anything to do with surgery! The guy got in trouble after throwing a sharp instrument at woman intern and it cut her. I say just desserts. I was always upset, especially with the left when they would make fun of Dr. Carson calling him sleepy, dead man walking, that's how stupid they are, and that includes the politicians and the Marxist Media, they don't want to list the attributes and accomplishments of this man, if they did, he would beat all other candidates out because he is a genius.
