    I've had this game in my library my about eight months now, and thanks to this real tutorial I now know what is going on. Explaining what everything on the HUD is absolutely excellent, and then going on to show working examples makes for a great tutorial...Lite-ly Salted you've done more than enough to get a sub from me, many thanks indeed, I can now really enjoy this game.

    I realize this video is a year old now but I'll comment in anyway. I have been a Silent Hunter Fan since it came out basically one through five. In some ways the graphics on Silent Hunter and the maneuverability I like much better. I've had this game in my library paid for for over a year and just never really played it well the truth is I played it for about 10 minutes didn't like it cuz I didn't understand it and walked away from it. After watching some tutorial videos and figuring out what I'm doing and learning how to do the Torpedoes which were very similar to Silent Hunter I am amazed at how much I love this game. I am very happy to say this game is much better than Silent Hunter. I thought I would hate managing the crew I enjoy that too and once you learn how to effectively hunt for ships it is a fantastic game. Nice video I enjoyed it.

      I agree, I've also been a long fan of SH 1-5 and backed this game, not really played it much as I'm waiting for the full release, but have a play every now and then when the updates come out. the game has just got better and better - stick with it, sure you're love it! Also look up the TDC mod if you haven't already, it's a torpedo gamechanger.

    Can we attack ships from any angle or they should be infront of us. Ships sometimes circle around or move in zigzig manner how to target them?

    • @Lite_lySalted
      @Lite_lySalted  Год назад

      Your torpedoes can only steer so much, in front is best. When ships are evading, there is no way to automatically target them. You'd have to do it manually based off best guess.

      @@Lite_lySalted one more thing during tracking / creating torpedo course, should the sub be stopped or moving at slow speeds. And while attacking ships when we cant set an interception course how to track them, also sometimes battery is draining just after starting from dock & the sub is on surface not in water. What is the way to keep an eye on everything.

    • @Lite_lySalted
      @Lite_lySalted  Год назад +1

      @Jump By stop or slow is best. For the battery, check to make sure you are not set to electric engines, or running other equipment (causes drain). For the tracking, take a look at some of my vids

      @Lite_ly Salted last time I spotted some war ships(3) and my sub was perpendicular to them at 3.5kms away when I asked skipper and engineer to calculate the course and when are calculating u didn't skip time & they took the time and couldn't calculate course all the ships sailed away, why they take so much time to plot a course. And when I tried to manually calculate the course and when I fired the torpedo crew says 10 seconds to impact but in map the torpedoes are just in front of the sub.

    • @Lite_lySalted

      @@jumpby7111 automatic targetting takes a long time. If your torps are not going anywhere then you've made an error in the manual calculation.

    Hi Lite, my appoligies this question doesnt tie in with your vid but was wondering if you could help.
    Today I tried to continue with my game after not playing since Nov 11. Before B 128 was introduced. However since logging in today it seems I cant 'continue' after my last save. Apparantly I'm still running B127 Hotfix 4. There are no prompts for me to download the update and I assumed it was an automatic download anyway.
    The game is only allowing me to start again from scratch. Ive played 92 hours and have advanced my boat and crew ect ect, so really don't want to start again.
    Have you heard of this happening and is there a way of correcting this? Thankyou very much and ANY help would be greatly appreciated.

    5:16 The more of the noise indicator I see the less sense it makes. I cannot for the life of me come up with any way to make those five numbers come out to 91dB. The breakdown seems useless for anything other than letting you know what to shut off.

    • @DreadX10
      @DreadX10 3 года назад +5

      A difference of 3 dB means something is twice as loud; A difference of -3 dB means half as loud.
      The indicator tells you your engines produce 88 dB and the total amount of noise is 91 dB.
      So, seeing the 3 dB difference, we know that we produce twice the noise (in total) our engines make. If we shut everything down except propulsion, we become half as detectable.
      Using the differences we can get in the 'ball-park' of the real number.
      88 dB is our loudest sound; 86 dB is 2 lower and therefore 63% of the noise of the engines; 84 dB is 4 lower (40% of noise-level); two 80 dB noises (is equal to one 83 dB noise) is about 1/3 of the engine-noise.
      In total we have about 240% [total noise] compared to the [engine-noise] so about 4 decibels higher (actually 3,8). Any number between 91-92 decibels is about right (round-off errors).
      To actually calculate it:
      In order to add decibels together, you first need to transform them from logarithmic to linear;
      then add them together;
      last we transform linear back to logarithmic to get the total dB-value.
      88 decibel = 10^8,8 = 630.957.344,48
      86 dB = 10^8,6 = 398.107.170,55
      84 dB = 10^8,4 = 251.188.643,15
      80 dB = 10^8 = 100.000.000
      80 dB = 10^8 = 100.000.000
      Total = 1.480.253.158,18
      99% of this = 1.465.450.626,60 (due to 1% surface disturbance)
      log (1.465.450.626,60) = 9,166
      multiply by 10 to get decibels: 91,66 dB (close enough)
      Hope this helps.
