Btw mine used to tip over even waddle in the slightest wind actually almost every time but I tightened up the mains to where they have no suspension travel and she’s rock solid now only extremely tight turns across the wind tip her over

I bought this plane last September, life got busy in October, and everyone’s life got crazy in March, so it is still in the box waiting for me to get back to flying!

Another great vid Rich / for once I own something you’re reviewing, I have been flying mine on 5500 packs all the way back without giving it much thought, without stabilisation and it’s been flying like a dream probably quicker than any of my jets but my club mates tell me I should be using 3300 packs and their F16s apparently are a bit tricky to fly on more standard packs so I think I’ll keep flying the 5500.

Great vid. This one's on my short list. I thought the same thing about the missiles. They have to go. Also, I wonder why they went with AMRAAMs on the wingtips. It's far more common (at least to me) for Sidewinders to be mounted on a Viper's wingtips. AMRAAMs definitely can go there, but still, an odd choice. Definitely not on a Thunderbirds ship though.

Rich how you feel bout the AS3X? with your flying skills, do it seam to be a benefit

I really like it! It really makes the plane more pleasurable to fly & it really makes it more fun to fly in the wind! Most of my planes have NO stabilization in them and in the past, I have never been a fan of them, however, now that I have been using them in these newer E-flite models, I can honestly say that they are a great benefit. That being said, It should not be used as a crutch! I would like to see pilots learn to fly without it so that they can truly learn to "feel the air", feel the wind, and develop a feel for the airplane with Zero assistance. Stabilization should be used as an aid to flying, not a substitute:) Yes, the AS3X Rules!

Hey Rich, i just got this Jet. Everything set up by the book but when i turn off throttle cut edf fan starts spinning little bit without even increasing throttle. Its very strange. It is set to -130%. Never had this issue with other planes. Any idea why or what can be done? And also would you suggest pytting 3200 pack all the way back close to the reciever? Sorry newbie questions. Thanks again man.

@@RCINFORMER hey Rich..did the maiden today on my F 16. I noticed my aileron and elevator was very limited. At high rates it was okay but low rate it was very very limited. Took forever to make any kind of turns. I almost think mine came incorrect factory setting for servo arms and control horn. Mine for alleron and elevator both servo arms and control hors are outer most holes. Is it suppose to be like this?? On the book shows 2nd last hole for arms and outer hole for horns. I am so confused . Should i just change low rate to maybe 85% to make it work? Hope you can help bud.

@@deppi You can move the elevator ball in one hole to get more throw, I did this with mine:)

Try a Yak, Viper, or L39 for first EDF. This is a 2nd or 3rd EDF in my opinion.

@@tyfude Good advice. I'm fine tuning my EFD skills with a E-flight Viper 70mm and it's a perfect trainer. Think of it as the T-28 for EDF. My goal is to move onto to the E-flight F-16 70/80mm or Falcon 80mm.

@@davidgerlach1132 If you are comfortable with the Viper than this 70mm F-16 will surprise you. It will not stall. Compared to the Viper it will seem so easy. The trick is slowing it down - not too hard just takes finesse and high alpha - but this jet basically does that on its own. I have not flown the 80 version, but have heard that it is the same just heavier and more money to lose, lol.

    • @davidgerlach1132

@@tylerdewein856 Oh my, now you have my head spinning. This Thunderbird 70mm would look like peanut butter and jelly next to my E-flight T-28 1.2m Trojan. I am very tempted to get the Thunderbird, I realize I can use forward program with my Spectrum NX8 with SAFE select, so to get comfortable with this plane at first and help at first when on landing approach. Also, Tyler, I have this Thunderbird 70mm (and 80mm) in my RealFlight Evolution SIM, and I can fly it like a champ, but this is without any inhibitions of real mother earth beneath me. And to boot my local hobby shop here in San Diego has this Thunderbird in stock. Decisions, decisions.

@@davidgerlach1132 on approach this F16 is oddly stable. Way more than the Viper. It won’t stall. It’s the weirdest thing. Makes for great landing approaches. Good luck!
