Wow just stumbled across this. Sitting here with a tear in my eyes. Steve and Tony two wonderful artists taken from us to soon. Great memories from all the Shy gigs back in the 80s and 90s gone but never forgotten
Had the pleasure of opening for Shy at a gig in Bristol in the late 80's. They weren't the most pleasant in allowing us to soundcheck but acknowledged afterwards they enjoyed our our set. Cool enough for me as I was a huge fan.
A former co-worker of mine called Chris, was in a band called Serpentine, and Tony did a bit of work with them. I was already familiar with Shy, which I think Chris was surprised I knew of Tony.
Thanks. SHY played in Norway 27. april 1987 Drammenshallen warming up for Gary More. I had a chat with Tony Mills outside back stage since the power / lights went out in the middle of their gig. He was very kind and took the time to talk with me. The next day I ran to the store to obtain a CD copy of their album "Excess All Areas". TONY - R.I.P
Losing Steve Harris destroyed my life and my creations became really dark without him. I love Shy and Tony is amazing here. This sounds almost as good as the original. His voice is amazing. His range is incredible and without him I'd never have become a vocalist. Tony Mills got me to sing. I started to reach for the high notes and found I could hit them! I discovered a comfortable range all thanks to Tony. I thank God every day he's alive and still with us. He also was for ages a really good friend. Tony if you read this please get in touch with me. Love. Ben.
I love this song. Great voice and the guitarists are wonderful. Love the guitar solo. Great band. Bass playing changing the roots at the last chorus is wonderful. Can’t fault it.
Tony, in a musical genre where so many singers sound alike, you have always stood out above all the rest, sounding like no one else. There never has been anyone like you. You sound as amazing now as you did when you first started w/ the band.
Can i have somehow...all of the concert...please ? Amazing voice Tony......!!! Greetings from Greece... We always remember you Steve...a great musician.. R.I.P
Losing Steve Harris destroyed me. My biggest hero died and I put down the guitar forever. I tried for a few years after he died and my heart was no longer in playing it. I was totally shocked and when I found out the cause of death that was the end. I wish to this day it had been someone else someone I hate from a band I hate, but I'll leave that unsaid because you never know who may be reading this. I can give you a clue IT IS NOT SOMEONE FROM A MELODIC BAND. I think you know who I mean.
Nice to see you have looked after your voice Tony... unlike some of my other favourite 80's singers like Don Dokken. I saw you and the rest of your band in a little town called Salisbury in wiltshire in the 80's and have listened to SHY weekly ever since. RIP Steve Harris. He was the reason i picked up a guitar. Love all your records.
Yeah, he's the best rock vocalist of ALL FUCKIN TIME! His range is incredible. Listen to the albums with Shy oh wow that band were the best- they ARE the best. Tony Mills and Steve Harris were such a beautiful writing and performing team. I love Tony and I love SHY.
Oh wow! Tony sounding better than ever brilliant and heart wrenching tribute to the best writer/guitarist ever Steve Harris. No I don't mean the slime bag from Iron Maiden. If he was dead I'd be laughing not crying.
Benjamin Blake Mitchner , Thank you for your kind words about Steve, Tony too....they are appreciated. Keep The Fires Burning. Best wishes, Deb Harris x
i just came across this band and wow i really like alot of the songs...i think his voice in some parts of some songs sounds alot like Geoff Tate from Queensryche just mu opinion
Blue eyes 80'sgirl Forever.....Your opinion is valid......Tony was a huge fan of Geoff Tate and Queensryche. And great to hear you’re enjoying the timeless music of SHY.
Headline is misleading. I get that the song is from 87, but while I just saw and listened I knew it's at least from the late 0's. I know the original If you still are going at it, I really hope that your performance is better than this. I'd say that to a lot of rock bands. Feel the ego and contact to the audience. Dare to make the mistakes that are given when you do that
This sound is outstanding but ive just watched the live gig from Germany and it sounds terrible. The vocals sound amazing here. Not so in the other live show
Rest in peace Tony Mills.... You will be surely missed.
Poor guy, what a shame. Saw these guys live in 87, great live band. Very unlucky they didn’t break through.
Rest in peace Tony Mills..
One of greatest underrated singers ever
