I wanted to do this purely for my own enjoyment at a time when just having a microphone and a YT account was enough. I've seen this part of the fandom grow and evolve over the past three years, and sometimes it's easy to lose sight of the good things in it. Srcribbler could you do a reading of the morning sonata series on fimfiction? it's a pretty long series, many parts and they are named different things but i read over it all last night having heard some of its reading here on youtube and i just HAVE to see hear the rest read...Sunset Shimmer is my favorite MLP character by far and stories with her always put a smile on my face and this story is no exception to that rule. it's a Sunset & Sonata romance story with a bit of sad fic and drama tossed in and boy does it work! Love your reading, hope to see more
I had somwhat of an idea. For some time I wanted to write a few storys about anything and I started on an ambishes trillogy. I later found out about FF and could only post FF writings. So I started on what I thought would be a short story that I found myself over intresting myself as the story developed. I then scraped the old version and rewrote the first three chapters in a much darker take. The story is called "Falconers and the Tomb of Aminus." All of it is OC. Characters, Locations, concepts and I even wrote a bonus chapter covering about 500 hundred years of history in the univers it occupies. This is my first fan fic I have ever writen and already im thinking of three diffrent spin-offs. one i already decided to call "Hexers and the secrets war." From the people who have made a review they said that it was great and compleatly original. All I ask is you at least read the history the chapter, "history of Carridian" and see how you feel about it. Sorry if I am asking much but I feel that a little help would go a long way.

The homesteading spell is probably meant to protect the family and the land its meant for, which also means keeping out trespassers. To welcome new ponies into the family would usually mean a wedding ceremony.(to say nothing of adoption, but I digress...) However if there are different types of ceremonies for different types of ponies this would throw the whole thing out of whack. Now this next bit is just conjecture based on available facts and assumptions, but what if using a unicorn ceremony just altered the homesteading spell in such a way that it was waaaaay more powerful than it was ever meant to be by earth pony standards? Alicorns are very much exceptions to the rule when it comes to pony races so maybe that has something to do with it as well? Alicorns are thought to have all types of magic, including earth pony magic so, heck, maybe the ceremony would've worked if they were both earth ponies, but based on how weddings are usually romanticized and the already assumed direction this is all going; a pony ceremony probably involves intertwining the magic of the couple involved, which might mean Twilight's alicorn magic just became entwined with AJ's... something. I honestly couldn't say. Could be AJ's earth pony magic. Could just have been nothing. Although since we know the homesteading spell runs off of the magic of the earth _and_ the ponies who invoked it, it can reasonably be assumed that it keeps feeding on their magic for as long as it's active. So if the family were to disappear so would the spell. This means marriage is a necessity to keeping the spell going and anyone added to the family would have to be safe from it and feed their magic into it. With this in mind we can think of the earth pony ceremony as adding to a sort of whitelist. So with the earth pony ceremony being for whom the spell will protect and the unicorn ceremony as a way to mix magics... How powerful is Twilight again? TL;DR It's obvious to me that Twilight's new home is rejecting her (and possibly AJ because of their unfit union?) because of the unicorn ceremony and/or Twilight not being entirely earth pony, but what if it's being magnified by Twilight's own magic? Now that would be a kicker! lol
