When I was 15 years old I started my love affair with Tools, my Mother knew that was a good thing so she bought me a few Channellock models because the man at the hardware store said they were very good... I’ve been a fan ever since- NOTHING beats Channellock tools! Thanks for sharing these awesome professionals making my favorite tools! 😃👍
I just don’t know how you grind away all day and still keep a focus on doing a good job and it always amazes me when I see hundreds or thousands of tools being made every day yet they still sell them all. Where do they all go. Nice to see an attractive lady in there working hard. Cheers
They might not be doing quite the volume you think they are. I'd be surprised if they're even completing 1,000 a day. Which is still hundreds of thousands a year. But not every day.
Affordable made in the USA. Quality. Whats not to love and appreciate. I give them as gifts. One heading to Australia soon, to christen my brothers tool box. Ofcourse iam going to hand deliver!
Channellock is a great brand. I’ve got a couple pairs of pliers and they are awesome. I have a pair of needle nose pliers on order. Made in USA and they’re also pretty affordable for the most part. Two things you generally don’t see much of anymore.
Channellock is my main plier brand. I have pliers made by other manufacturers but my main "set" is all Channellock. They're not the best but they're good enough for me.
Notice at 1:54 the operator has his hand tethered by wire that pulls back on the downstroke. You wont see that in China where they get 25 cents an hour.
Portuguese: Bem, eu irei dar minha sincera opinião, eu tenho alicates da marca KNIPEX, KLEIN TOOLS, BAHCO, GEDORE, STANLEY, MILWAUKEE, eu prefiro CHANNELOCK.
I recently did an overhaul on my hand tools to only US Made. As I was throwing out my Harbor Freight Chinese tools,, my wife asked “aren’t you just throwing money away?” My response was “I only spent about $40 on all of them.” Sad but good riddance! Officially joined the Channellock fan club. I now own 95% of their hand tools.
If you primarily are gripping round parts get the V jaw. If you are gripping parts with flat surfaces.. Line bolts and nuts go with flat jaws. For the auto repair I do I prefer flat jaws.
I think the Hand-Tuning speaks to the strength of those handles. Just bend a 10 in channel lock I own. I'm glad they're made in the US but i think their materials and design could use work.
Cool process. I think it explains one of my biggest issues with the Channellock pliers: their jaws are not that durable in my experience. Unless it just is missing in the video, they do not do any focal heat treating of the heads like many brands do now.
I only want to carry one pair of adjustable pliers in my bag..should I go with the V jaw or Straight Jaw type channellocks? Is the V Jaw more versatile or does the Straight Jaw work better in more situations?
All US everything the steel is sourced from PA, OH, and MI, and even the plastisol the handle are dipped in is made in Jamestown NY. Im a forger who works there..
This is not a very good video of our pliers being made. It just shows the forgers and brackers, what about the tool polishers? The Jet Blasters? The rest of the Chennellock factory basically
I like their products. But watching the video, I didn’t see as much deliberate judgment by the worker, as I saw repetition. High quality automation can do as well as humans in the work shown here. I support ‘American-made’, but let’s be smart, too.
Obviously USA manufacturers turn back to R&D, new equipment and automation no wonder they cant stay competitive. I like watching these tours but so far all USA tool manufacturer facilities appear to be stuck in a stone age compared to German and Japanese counterparts. QA control is cutting rope and then filing?
So why are these tools junk compared to Knipex for only slightly more money? Every Channellock pair I buy for my shop guys are stiff and look like they were made by the noob and they already have rust starting. I'm dealing with a return of a brand new pair yet again. I have been buying Knipex for myself and as of today...I'll buy it for my guys. Vastly superior. This is my last time ever looking to Channellock.
Thanks for the feedback Metric Deep. Both brands have very loyal followings. I am a big fan of Knipex as well, they make solid, very well engineered tools.
@@homefixated I guarantee the employees want to be on top and make the best stuff.....Capitalism, sadly, is burning the very home we live in. There is not even innovation within Channellock. I hate to hate to hate on stuff...but when I see the difference in products...it's startling.

What a great mother.
Luv the big hair look @ 4:14 ! Whew !!! Rockin it !!!
Me Too!
I have a pair of 215s. That's the pliers she's making.
I lived in Meadville PA for about a year while I went to school, I would drive by the factory each day. Pretty cool!

Loved this video. People need to see that real people do real work. Thank you
Pretty amazing how much of the manufacturing is still done by hand. Those dudes on the grinding wheel have cojones!

Ofcourse iam going to hand deliver!
Wow this gave me goosebumps. Support USA tools!

Channellock, one of The BEST U.S.A. Made Tools.
Great video, fantastic tools to own.

That lady at the hand tuning station has some serious forearms!
Love it! Thanks for sharing!
They’re pulling the steel rods out of the forges I rebuild for them 🔥💪 here in Michigan
I have a pair from the 30s made in Meadville.
Makes me proud to be American

Good for you. Love to hear this and congratulations on making the commitment to the USA.
I love buying new channel locks but I never get to because they last forever!
Shhhhhh, don’t tell them that or they’ll build in obsolescence.😂
Luv my Channellock model #420 Pliers' I use the Every Day at Work an Sumtimes at home,' 💪🇺🇸
4:12 time. YES! YOU'RE HIRED!!
DITTO!
Be still, man, the world belongs to women! Wow!!

All the Channelocks claim to be laser hardened in the jaws. But no matter, mine are 20 to 40 years old and the jaws are still as new
Channel locks and knipex used in my shop. Anything less, you might as well drop your money in the scrap hopper.
Ótimas ferramentas

5 years and no one answered....I'll carry on the tradition and not answer your question.
You know these are top quality because mine have all been stolen twice and the Harbor Fright junk stays behind
Os alicates são meu sonho de consumo pena que não posso comprar
enteresting ,
good job
Where are the next generation workforce?
so what is a brand name?
Channellock.
Made in the USA, but whose steel are we using?
In another video they say USA steel
All US everything the steel is sourced from PA, OH, and MI, and even the plastisol the handle are dipped in is made in Jamestown NY. Im a forger who works there..

I'm watching the Mike Rowe show on Fox Business right now. I've seen it before. Very good how it's made. I hope all is well.

Yup. Quality is low. Competitors are winning in a big way. Screw quality...we need profit!
I hate channellock's grips so bad... If they changed them, it would improve their tools so much.
Wilde tool pliers made in Kansas way better than channellock check them out
